I know where the vin number is but can't find the engine number number, need to get a blue slip and mechanic couldn't find either.Need help quickly.
The engine is the Letter that is the 8th digit of VIN #

We don't have those odd registration issues in the US
We never take casting numbers of anything for any reason
I know the vin number looking for the engine number for registration, is it on the engine block , we can't find it, as we don't have the old rego.
I'm in Australia.
Like I said we don't know about engine block casting numbers or whatever you need down under It could be your vehicles are imported with features your govt requires we have no knowledge of Sorry

YES, THE VIN NUMBER IS NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD ON THE DRIVERS' SIDE. IT CAN BE SEEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. ANOTHER LOCATION IS ON THE DRIVERS' DOOR BY THE DOOR CATCH OR STRIKE PLATE. OK NOW FOR THE ENGINE NUMBER, LOOK UNDER THE HOOD FOR A WHITE STICKER. ON THIS STICKER TOWARDS THE BOTTOM IS THE ENGINE INFORMATION. GOOD LUCK

This not the original engine so it did not come from any paticuliar year, but this much i can tell you the engine was sold as a replacement small block between 1995 and 2000, so it is at least 10 years old. here is the data from chevy site.
