I am guessing that the motor has died on you and has stopped working and needs to be replaced. These types of vacuum cleaners last about 5 years and if you had it for 4 years and this problem is occurring then it is most likely a faulty vacuum cleaner here that you could of had purchased and you should buy a new vacuum cleaner. Costco sells shark rocket vacuum cleaners.
Your Shark vacuum is equipped with a motor protective thermostat. If for some reason your vacuum overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn the unit off. Should this occur, you would need to restart the motor thermostat. Turn off your unit and unplug the vacuum from the power. Clean the filters and dust cup filters. Check for blockages in hose, accessories and inlet openings. Then allow the unit to cool for a minimum of 45 minutes before plugging it back and turning it on.

Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. When vacuuming it is a good idea to give your vacuum a burst of air once in a while to clear the hose and push the dust and dirt into the bag, simply just lift up on the powerhead or vacuum hose and give it a burst of air every 5 or 10 minutes. Also, we you like to know the brand name and model # of the vacuum. Some of the ways are to use a round metal ball or marble to see where the clog is in the hose and then you can use such things as the end of a broom handle, or you can use a wire coat hanger and bend the end to make a little hook and then try to grab the clog and say fish it out – or if you have another canister or shop vac you can tune on both canisters and try to pull the clog apart and sometimes that works as well – just be careful so that you do not puncture the electric hose because they are expensive in the area of $100.00 or more in some cases. Check the hose and see if it has a clog, also the hose at the bottom. The filters may be clogged, make sure they are clean and that air flows thru them, if not then replace them.
