SOURCE: When I switch my karcher k4.97 washer on it just

Well, first the easy bit... the pulsation is caused by the leak, because the machine can't hold pressure when the trigger is released.  The difficult bit is: what to do about it?  Unfortunately, there are several different places where the leak can occur and, even with the cover off, it's usually impossible to be sure exactly where the water's coming from.  In the repair shop where I work, we almost always replace every part that might be causing trouble without even trying to identify the exact source.  To do otherwise will rack the labour costs up so high as to render the job uneconomic.  We reckon that if you can't complete the job in 45 minutes it's not worth it.  Sad really, but such are the realities of our economics.
Anyway, unless you are a really competent handy-person, this is probably a job you won't want to tackle for yourself.  So your choice is either to live with it (and do whatever you can to limit the pulsating time - keep it working or switch it off immediately) or take it to a repair shop.  If you are in the UK, Karcher head office can direct you to a repairer, and I guess the same applies in many other countries too.
If you do want to have a go at it yourself, post another message here and I'll give you as much guidance as I can (but there will be a limit to the amount of detail I can provide, as I can't get in to writing a complete service manual!).

SOURCE: Karcher k4.98 switching on and off

The machine has a pressure leak. Check for a cracked controll head or either a leaking outlet elbow. The machine will short cycle if the holding pressure can not be maintained

SOURCE: the motor is pulsing on and off without the trigger being pressed

It is probably sucking air on one of the connections or around one of the fittings at the regulator. You can also turn the pressure up allittle on the regulator, that might stop it also. Make sure the clamps on the hoses going to the regulator is tite. Also it could be that the regulator is just bypassing water and if it has air in it it will pulsate.

SOURCE: I have a karcher 495, it is puslating when it is

It sounds like there may be a pressure leak somewhere in the system. The machine cuts off when there is no flow of water past it. If it is leaking then there is intermittent flow. Which would make the machine run then stop continuously.

SOURCE: Karcher 360M pressure washer pulsating problem when idleing

Hello,

unfortunately these little units have this problem commonly, 9 times out of 10 it will be the plastic head or the plastic valve block on the unit will be cracked and leaking slightly... it builds up pressure then leaks out and tries to build up the pressure again and this just reoccurs over and over...

you can get this repaired but is normally about half the cost of a new unit, if the pressure is still okay i would probably recommend just keep using it until it proper dies...

If you do get this fixed, we have studied into this and believe the main cause of heads cracking is warm water say if your inlet hose is in the sun for a period of time this can cause the water to become quite hot or if the unit sits and water trapped inside the head assy freezes can also cause this. Hope this helps Kind Regards Brad

Why does my Karcher pressure washer Pulsates when switched on also leakes water.

Hi,
Shame you did not leave the model type of "Karcher" pressure washer as there are several models.
There is normally a special oil which should be changed, expect this to be done at least every three years or less.
1/. These pressure washers should only be serviced or taken apart at one of their registered dealers, as far as pulsating if you have the cheaper models then they do not last very long.
2/. Their better more power washers pulsate all the time & that is why they are sold new with a special fitted container, this allows all the pipes & water connections to fit & hold in supplied container, which allows you to give a higher or lower power controller where their yellow pipe that attaches to the gun fits on the machine.
3/. Where the pressure pipe goes into the power washer it has a black knurled fitting to adjust the pressure higher or lower out put, this is the only adjustment you can make on these power washers, everything else needs to be done by their approved dealers, situated all around the world, try finding your nearest dealer through the Internet. Hope this helps. Malcolm.

My karcher 250 pulsates when i turn it on, any idia how to fix it thanks

My karcher 250 pulsates when i turn it on, any idia how to fix it thanks

Several things can cause this problem. It is trying to build up pressure and something is preventing it.

1. check water pressure comming out of the the spicket.
2. Make sure the hose and connectors aren't leaking.
3. make sure there isn't any water leaking from the washer.

If all is ok I would guess the pressure pump has gone out that's the noise you hear pulsating trying to build up pressure.

POWER CRAFT BY Karcher bought Aldi on 31Mar 05.2100Watts 130 bar.

You did winterize the machine? Leaving water in a powerwasher will freeze and damage the pump. It's a common happening, because people don't think of it or are not told by the maker.

Pulsating when idle

The motor doesn't pulsate when you are spraying and pulsattes when not spraying is normal otherwise the pressure will just keep building and burn out the pump. However, if you are not using the sprayer right away then the unit should be shut off until your ready to start again.
I hope the answer is helpful, please rate if the answer has helped in any way. Good Luck and have a great weekend.

When i started the washer and pressed the trigger the first time i had good preasure but when i released the trigger and pressed it again i have no preasure

Hi:
This sounds like the bypass valve is stuck. You need to get at it and pull it out. Then check it for o-ring damage and be sure you lube it with a good waterproof grease before replacing. If THIS is your pump then the bypass valve is #8 on page 2.4

Check the oil. This is what happens when it is low on oil with my pressure washer. Kind of a safety feature.
