Hi you need to reinstall the Japanese version of vista then download the full english language compatibility pack, then you can change from one language to another without losing any of your settings.

Dont BUY any brand of NEC Product specialy laptop
they have website support that dont support or help there customers. Stupid NEC....

the Sound driver vnyl ac97 codec you can download it in VIA website, and the video card driver is SIS 740,you can download it SIS website

1.Definitely you can get your drivers .
just go to ur motherboard manufacturing site, click on download section click on drivers, enter mother board number and download the drivers free.
2. If you don't know the motherboard drivers name and exact number then connect to internet, uninstall all the old video and audio drivers or restart the system. then when pop up window says that new hard driver is found then click it and it will automatically install drivers from net
3. If you want to know about your motherboard drivers, then go to desktop
a. right click on my_computer,

b.then select properties, in properties tab click on the HARDWARE tab,

c.then click on the device manager tab, then select and expand the drivers like sound or video which you want to know.

d. right click on the selected sound or display drivers and select its properties.

e. select driver tab and the driver name and version will be before you. and again repeat the step 1 again

Have you installed the correct drivers? Do you know how to get to the device manager (control panel, system, device manager) Does this show any devices with question marks (?) or exclamation points (!).
If so, this is the reason why your devices are not working; usually this occurs when the incorrect drivers are installed, or if you've not installed any drivers for the devices.
If you have wired internet connection, you can allow windows to download the drivers automatically (this works about 1/2 the time thoguht it takes forever to run)
Simply highlight the devices with a question mark, and hit delete.
Turn off your computer and restart, windows will detect them the next time it starts up, and allow windows to connect to the internet and download them automatically. (this assumes you have internet connection)
Otherwise, you will have to try to find the correct drivers for your hardware and if you are unsure what ones you need this can be difficult, the best place to start to look for them is the support page of your laptop manufacturer, or you can google search for them, using terms such as your brand, model number and device type (wireless or card reader) with the words driver download.

lookup the specs for the machine and then download the drivers for the different hardware that make it up... you maybe looking for a video driver for nec lavie s ls 900/8e when you should be looking for the driver for the actual graphics chip family inside of it... thats worst case... best case goto the nec site and download the drivers...
