Wrong language i brought a second hand CASIO EXILIM EX-S10 this is what is on the camera so not to sure if it is EX-S10 OR EX-S100, Once i charged the battery the camara is in JAPANEES language. i do not have any instruction manual either to change it to ENGLISH. i would like to buy or down load the manual to work out how to use the camera to. many thanks cheryl

Do you think it could need a charging?

The lens mechanism could be jammed and cause a failure of the lens control system. You can remove battery and card replace battery and while switching on tap the lens hood on your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
Use some air to blow between the lens to dislodge any sand particles struck inside. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre., being an expensive camera
get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the Casio service as you do not have to run around for spares.

Firstly, charge your battery fully. This should solve the switching off. It sounds to me like your card isn't in correctly, or is incompatible, and your internal memory is full. (it usually only stores a few photos for emergencies) Have a look at the type of card you have. If it says SDHC, or is 4GB or larger, it is not compatible with your camera and you need to get a 2GB. If not, it may not be inserted correctly. Push it all the way into the slot and it will click when it's in properly. Then try formatting it. Press review (where you look at the photos) and scroll down to setup- then look for 'format' and press okay. This should sort everything out. You can also copy the photos you've taken in the meantime from the memory to the card by pressing copy in the review menu and scrolling to the right. Hope that helps

i f i remember correctly, this camera has input/output terminals. both for USB/AV port and a USB: high speed USB.

buy a new battery (DUH)

if you google error code it seems to be a corrupt operating system in camera and looks like you need a firmware update from casio or if someone has the download to update camera-seems to be a pretty common problem-email casio w/code and see what they say!
