How do I repair Hoover Windtunnel floor/carpet switch? Brush will not turn but belt is not broken. I believe setting was hard floors and son forced the switch when the vaccuum was running.

The lever that switches from carpet to hard floors may be broken if it was forced, remove the cover to gain access. Replace both belts too. They may be stretched or worn even though they look good.

Beater bar stopped working. Not clogged.

Make sure that the belt has not broken and is engaged. Also, if your vacuum cleaner has a "bare floor" setting, make sure that the lever is switched to carpet. That was a "head-slapper" for me once.

The bare floor/carpet switch moves on it's own from bare floor to carpet all the time.

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. When you have your brush control set to 'Carpets', the brushbar should run when the cleaner is reclined into the vacuuming position, and shut off when you stand the cleaner upright. When you have the brush control set to 'Hard floors', it should remain in the off position until you change it manually back to 'Carpets'.

If it won't stay in the 'Hard floors' position during use, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly so we can determine if there's a fault, and recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). We'll look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Jack

Brush will not spin

Hello :

Try this: switch the carpet/bare floor dial back & forth 5 times, ending on carpet. Tilt the handle back as if to vacuum upright & lay the vacuum on its side so it is resting on the side opposite the carpet/bare floor dial. Turn the vacuum on.

Reset button or Fuse on my Infinity?

Ok, I took it apart, cleared the clog out, and put it back together. It wouldn't switch to "carpet". Got no answer on my question. Took it apart again, only I went further. Took apart the bottom - brush out, all inside bottom parts out, cleaned all that part of vac. No clogs down there. Ran the carpet/bare floor switch back and forth several times while I had it apart. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Still didn't find a fuse or reset button...

The switch/lever that adjusts brush broke

yes this is a replaceable part, but you are going to have to order the button as well as the carpet/hardwood setting cam thats just below the button on the inside of the machine, under the hood. the best bet would be to go by your local vac shop or to see if you can order these item's online from hoover. i have checked for you and on there web site i cannot find the part num. for you. i'm sure that someone can help you at hoover or your local vac shop.

Dyson vacuum brush roll doesn't turn

The brushbar should only turn when you meet two conditions:
1) When you step on the front of the machine and pull back on the handle (recline the machine in other words)
2) The dial is set to CARPETS

The brushbar shouldn't turn at all when it is set to the BEAR FLOORS setting.

To rectify the problem - call the Dyson Helpline so that they can refer you to an authorized dealer in your area - the repair dealer will inspect the dial and figure out why the functionality seems to be switched. They'll be able to fix it for you.

Kenmore Vacuum 116.36623501 does not stay on bare floor setting

It sounds like there is something wrong with the latching assembly. GO to the Sears Parts website and enter your Model number. Look at the parts assembly for the Nozzle, and the problem will be in one of items 12 through 17.
