2. There is no such thing as a 'universal remote' since the coding is totally non-standard and may differ from one model to the next even within one manufacturer's current lineup.

When thinking about buying a 'universal' remote, get the model number and check the maker's website for a listing of models the remote can control.

Finally, if the remote is older than the set you want to control, it probably won't have the necessary codes to control all of the device's functions if any at all.

Hello alfredo and welcome to FixYa. I see you need codes for a Toshiba television however the title of your question states a Sylvania television so if you don't mind I'll give you the codes for both.

Toshiba Remote Codes
0156, 0060, 0154

Sylvania Remote Codes
0054, 0030, 0020, 0096

If your remote control only accepts three digit codes you will have to drop the first zero off of these codes.

Example 0156 would be 156.
