If an Alignment was done and the steering sensor angle was not reset properly this can happen.

So a bad steering sensor can as well yes.

Also other things can as well, like an ABS Fault.

On a side note, if the vehicles battery is going bad, the low voltage will cause dozens of random codes through out all of it's systems.

(Learned all of that first hand, it wasn't much fun)

I have multiple sensor lights lit up on my dash. ABS, ESP BAS, Anti Slip and Speed sensor. Why, what's the problem?

The ESP BAS light is a warning light that indicates that there is a problem with your Electronic Stability Program and/or your Brake Assist Program. These systems are vital to the safety of your vehicle. Fixing them should be a top priority.

I have an 06 jeep grand Cherokee 3.7, the abs esp bas lights will come up and go off all the time. It shows code p0710. I know it's something with transmission or sensor related issue.Should I worry?

code p 0710 refers to transmission fluid temperature(TFT) sensor ---circuit malfunction===causes --wiring--TFT sensor--ECM---TCM
overheating transmission oil leads to early transmission failure so I would not let that slide as for the abs , esp and bas lights I would be looking for another code that refers to a bus or can fault which is wiring or communication problems
Again any lights on are an indication of future costly problems so get it checked out at a professional service center

I have a 2000 Mercedes E430 base sedan. Last week I replaced the brake light switch because it was out and it solved the problem to the point that I can now put my car into gear and drive it, however, as...

Brake light switch problem may cause the ESP / BAS lights to illuminate.

Common symptoms of a bad
Mercedes brake light switch.
  • Car stuck in Park.
  • ABS ESP ETS lights come on.
  • Can not move the shifter from Park to Drive.
  • Brakes Defective Warning on Instrument Cluster
  • Car won't shift gears. Stuck in 2nd gear, limp mode.
  • Brake lights don't work. (Brake light switch can still be defective even if the brake lights work. Checking the brake light operation is not a good test.)
  • ESP, BAS, ABS lights turn on. Car won't shift properly. Stuck in gear.

TEST: To test your new brake light switch: Turn you car off to reset the ABS light. apply the parking brake. and start the car in neutral or park without using the brake. if the problem is the brake light switch... the light will only come on when you press the brake pedal.

If you replaced the brake light switch and the light is still on you should check a few other things such as:

  • Fuses and Relays
  • ABS pump
  • ABS wheel speed sensor
  • Brake Fluid Level
  • Get an advanced scanner to read trouble codes.

NOTE: ** You may need a MBZ scan tool to reset the error code which was stored in the ECU because of the bad brake light switch.

My esp/bas light stays on

the operators manual is clear on that, did you read that first?
it says "get the car serviced" clearly
if you work on cars, do you? thne we scan the systems with the scan tool first. to see if there are complex hard errors.
like the ABS sensors, (not bas) sensor dead. (ops a road hazard hit it and broke the wire there, dang.
then if no hard failures.
first is not ESP (that be last dead last)
the first is , the brake must work perfect if not , the ABS can not
work correctly with bad brakes.
so check fuses.
scan ABS for errors
then do a full brake inspection, takes me 2 hours. but my guess,
youve never done brakes, right,, your self?
not even a full inspection?
  1. leaks? (fluid)
  2. pads worn out?
  3. caliper pistons not sticking
  4. rotors not cracked, or wrecked, surfaces.
  5. caliper guide pins not seized. (they float free?)
  6. emg, brake not sticking on partially?
  7. wrong sized tires on car (or just one , omg)
  8. ABS sensor parts damaged at axles ends.?
  9. bad wheel bearing, seizing or loose.
etc... etc.... and more.

ASB,ESP INOPRATIVE

All you have to do after replacing the battery and the bas/esp light comes on is drive the vehicle. While your driving around is will allow the steering angle sensor to relearn. That's only if it says "bas/esp see owners manual" displayed on the cluster.

My abs, brake, esp/bas, and esp/tcs lights all came on at once. Every time I start the car they are off and about thirty seconds into motion they all come on. Brakes seem to be functioning fine. ...

Most likely ou have speed sensor that Is not giving the correct info. At startup the abs does a self check and since the light stays off until you drive it there is no issue with the systems integrity. The light comes on after you start to move because the system is not seeing the info it should be seeing. Your best course of action is to have the abs system scanned for trouble codes. This will help narrow the possibilities. Once you have the codes post them here.

I have a '06 GV and in the dash appears the ESP and the ABS lights. What the ESP light means and how can I fix it? What I have to resolve with the ABS light?

the ESP is the electronic stability program it works in conjuction with your abs, its it's to help you not over steer your vehical if you go into a skid, the abs keeps the wheels from locking up so you also don't go into a skid when hard braking, check all your wheel sensors and your brakes to make sure you do not have any broken wires or contaminated connections.
hope this gives you some ideasgood luck!!
