My Sony Trintron's LED Light blinks 9 times when I try to turn on the set

When I moved my TV from the living room to the bedroom I tried turning on the TV but I instead saw the LED Light began to blink. I counted the blinks and the light blinked 9 times, what does that mean?

  1. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negative). If you wish to get more details about the blinking codes to Sony brand TVs, check this link. Pull up older posts there.

SOURCE: I have a sony Trinitron WEGA TV. Model

9 blinks is a zero crossing detector fault. This is caused by a malfunctioning detection circuit located on the G board. I have not seen many of the 32" models have this problem. But if you were going to get it repaired the repair should not be cost prohibitive somewhere in the 150 dollar range. It is usually a diode in this circuit that has changed it's specifications, the diode it's self will not test bad but the unique function it supplies to the circuit will malfunction because of this shift. Normally i see this on the 57" big screens and not the direct view, but both use the same power supply and use the same error diagnostics.

Check your power supply board and resolder the pcb, check the switching diodes and zeners.

SOURCE: sony tv kv-36fs120 will not turn on

Use a hair dryer on the back right side of unit. Humidity sensor may be causing the unit to stay off. The hair dryer may also remove dust causing a false humidity detection

Sony bravia kdl55hx729 3d led tv turns on 3 seconds shows picture than four red flashes

Hello,
the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.
Good Luck!

Comcast remote does not work after dark, works just find in day

I have had the same problem I have two bell receivers one in the bedroom and one in the living room, in low light the remote in the living room would work much like yours, but if I took the same remote into the bedroom it worked fine in low light, the second remote responded exactly the same, the problem in my situation was the TV had a light sensor that adjusts the picture depending on the light in the room, with this option turned off. The remote works just fine in low light situation.

Sony Bravia KDL 46", no picture, standby light blinks 4 times

Since the TV is still receiving power, the problem is going to be with the TV's mainboard.  After you unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, you said the power light went out again, so I assume the standby light wasn't flashing again?  The flashing standby light is indicating an error code so my suggestion is to contact Sony for service options regardless if there is a warranty or not because service is the only solution to this situation.  Don't forget to provide them the error code or 4 flashes repeating.

I have a Sony Trintron KV-PG21P40. When I'm

Since the set recovers under some conditions, I would first look for poor solder connections. With a set of your vintage, it is common for some of the connections to become faulty. If you can solder, resolder any connections on the board that appear grainy or have rings. Please note that there are potentially dangerous high voltages present inside the set even when unplugged.

Keep us posted on your progres.

Trouble code: Standby LED blinks 9 times

Try pushing the buttons on the remote and let me know what comes up on the screen if anything.
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink
codes.
