I boiled the kettle, added the hot water to a tray and placed it in the oven, shut the door then left it for 10 minutes so it steams up the oven (make sure power is off first). Do the same again. Then get a multi grip spanner and place a kitchen rag over the cover and turn to the left. It does take a bit of force depending on how stiff it is, but the steam will loosen the cover. The steam also cleans the oven quite a bit too!!

SOURCE: unable to remove the glass cover to change the light bulb in oven

I went out and bought a 4 inch strap wrench from LOWE's. I had never heard of one before. After figuring out from the diagram how to use it, I wrapped it around the glass bulb cover and did a counterclockwise twist and off it came. P.S. I'm a girl so I feel pretty good about that project

How do I change the light in my double oven microwave KEMC308

the light cover at the back of the oven needs to be unscrewed. There is normally 2 or 3 little screws involved. Once it has been removed it's like any other light bulbs, unscrew and change. Make sure to put back the cover tightly in place or the light will burn when the oven turns on.

I have a siemens electric oven. The bulb has blown and is encased in a glass cover. The intructions say to turn anti-clockwise to remove the cover, but it just won't budge. Ant ideas how I may free it?

The bulb cover is probably gummed up with solidified oven grease and therefore stuck.

The only thing you can try is to turn the power off and spray around the edge of the glass with oven cleaner and leave for a couple of hours in the hope that it will soften and allow you to unscrew it.

Be careful not to get the spray cleaner on to the heating elements.

Hi, I have a Neff oven Model No B144 2N0GB. The light has blown but I am unable to remove the glass cover to replace the bulb. It appears as if the glass cover has fused into its surround because it...

If the unit is less than two years old, cal 0844 892 8999 and ask for an engineer to come out. Alternatively, put on a pair of marigolds, this will help with the grip and remember that the cover comes of anti-clockwise if you are looking up at it. If you do not want to call an engineer out, call the number above and ask them to post out to you the lamp cover removal tool. Part number 613655.

Simpson Evolution 906 Oven light. how to replace it?

I have just replaced mine & had the same problem. I couldnt remove the cover. I found that I just couldnt grip the cover well enough. I got some rubber washing up gloves & used them to grip the cover. It was still tight but it un skrewd quite easy this way.

Can not remove light bulb from whirlpool oven

I had similar difficulty. This worked for me after 45 mins grief.

I got a heavy duty 1cm wide elastic band (length double was about 14-15cm). This is a common size heavy duty elastic band in the UK.

This elastic band is much too long to go around the glass bulb cover so I tied a knot in it so that i had a complete circle of rubber band tightly held around the bulb cover. Then I used a Mole wrench -a kind of large adjustable spanner - to undo the glass bulb cover. It came off easily because the rubber band gave sufficient grip to undo it. It is about 2.5 full turns anticlockwise to completely free it.

I hope this will help the next viewer of this website.

Try spraying WD40 onto the glass and bulb holder, try to screw the bulb cover back on first, and then try to unscrew i, it may help if you grasp it with a cloth or similar as you try to unscrew it

Kenmore oven: glass dome for interior light removal

Hopefully someone answered your question by now. If not, the glass bulb cover sticks sometimes, but it does turn counterclockwise. Be firm with it, let it know who's boss. Once you've removed it, you can replace the 40 watt appliance bulb. (The manual suggests you unplug the range or disconnect power for your safety). Good luck.
