Rotors on rc helicopter sometimes won't turn

Sometimes ,with the helicopter stopped, when I increase the throttle the rotors won't turn and I can hear the motors straining and hesitating as they try to rotate the blades. When I turn the helicopter upside down and hit the throttle, the rotors always spin freely with no problem ever. I've looked at the gears and how they mesh/align and checked the battery. Also the shaft looks straight and the wire connections to the board were resoldered at a local hobby shop. What should I consider replacing? The chopper has only been flown around 12 times.

Bought Nano Hercules RC Helicopter. Flew it once and now lower rotor won't turn. Tried to call World Tech

I, too, have the Nano RC heli. Mine spins and spins faster if I try and take off.
Yours is a relatively easy fix. There are SCREWS under the rotor blades on the bottom. Tighten those.

My Syma S107 bottom rotors won't turn. What is the fix?

Probably just the cog on the motor not meshing with the main shaft gear.

Kind regards, Julian

On my rc volitaion remote on the top the gauge what dose it mean when it flashs

It's in a safety start up mode so there is no accidental start up of the helicopter
while holding model in your hands to turn it on or plug battery in. When ready to fly move throttle
gimble to full up then back down to stop. Light should then stop blinking and the
next time you move throttle gimble up the helicopter rotors should begin to turn.

Hello i have rc helicopter it woring fine expect flying. the helicopter not going up. means not flying.

depening on the size of the copter if it is a motorized one then you need to check the pitch of the main rotors and check that the collective is working in conjunction with the increase of revs from the motor ie more revs = more lift
the amount of pitch required should be in the setting up instructions
hope this helps

My helicopter won't take off, it just spins in circles clockwise until it falls over. It's a 4 channel RC helicopter with gyroscope.

This issue is the "Drive Gear Unit" It is the small gear just above the motors which is attached to the very large gear. You will have seen several posts indicating that sometimes this gear shifts and does not engage the larger gear. In my case I looked and say that it was indeed trying to engage the larger gear, however the gear is stripped (the teeth are nearly gone). The sound that you are hearing is the sound of the gear slipping against the Bigger gear. I have a UJ365 which is a newer model. To my disappointment I cannot find a "Drive Gear Unit" anywhere on line. The copter will not function without it. This issue is that it takes the lift of both rotors to lift the copter into the air. There are two motors (one for each rotor) and each motor has one of these drive gear units. Each of these attach to the larger gears which turn the rotors. The rotors each turn in the opposite direction. This is what keeps the copter from continually turning in one direction. When one of the "main Gear Units" becomes damaged it seems to have three noticeable effects. (1) There is a noise that is the gear grinding against the bigger gear. (2) Because many of the teeth are stripped the drive gear engages the bigger bear only some of the time, this causes the rotor to turn slower and in-turn causes there not to be enough lift from the rotors to lift the copter. And finally (3), someone noted that copter wants to spin in one direction. Understanding the above, you can now understand that if one of the rotors is not reaching its full potential to turn, it is also not reaching its full potential to counter act the other fully functioning rotor. Thus the fully functioning rotor is forcing the copter to spin in its direction and the malfunctioning rotor is not spinning fast enough to stop the spin.

So this is the answer to your questions, hopefully on the older models there will be parts available for you to replace it. The copter cannot work until the part is replaced.

One rotor spins faster than other, so chopter flies only forward

Hi,
We are a family that bought one of your helicopters. We immediately had a problem, the top rotor stopped spinning after a crash. We found out that when the helicopter crashed I wasn't paying attention(I am 10 years old)and I was still pushing the throttle while it was on the top rotor. Big mistake, when I tried again it Didn't lift off the ground. We then put crazy glue in between the top rotor and the shaft and tried it again. It worked! Both rotors spun! Good luck!

Just bought the Walkera 38 Chinook. First flight I got an inch off the ground and landed it. Next attempt the top rotors spun initially then stops causing them to come in contact with the bottom ones. ...

Sorry for late reply, youve probably sorted this by now. This is common problen, some thing to do with the gyro. If you want to spin the rotors without takeing off the trick is to put full right turn then the gyro tries to compensate keeping the rotors turning at speed. To lift of the trick is to get airborn quickly without raising rotor speed slowly then the gyro will keep compensating and keep the rotors running. Had same problem myself, although saved the gears fortunately.
Hope this helps

Yiboo ch-47 rc helicopter: Rear rotor has reduced lift, does backflip when attempting liftoff. Rear rotor turns more slowly when tapping the "collective" on the RC. Took skins off, all 4 shafts turn...

If you twist its rotors a little more then the lift can increase. But try to twist then only if they could be else you may become minus them and I would hate it.
