My internet works, and my computer recognizes the router, but most of the time when I go to a website it comes up with an error saying the router cannot connect to the internet.
First check the LAN cable between the devices and try another cable. Reboot both devices.
The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset
If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.

I will try to see if I can Be of some help...But first I need to know who your ISP is. Also I note that you indicated that you try to renew and release you do not show DHCP connected. You should be doing release and then renew, I believe that's what you meant to say? Also please describe to me how you attempted to set up static IP.
Awaiting your info...!

it is possible but the routers have to be on separate channels
SOURCE: need software for dlink dir 301 wireless router
You don't need no steenking software, it's in the box. You do need a country, because it's not on the U.S. website.
Look at your local IP address (ie from DOS type IPCONFIG). The gateway address is 192.168.0.1? Open up Internet Explorer and type that address into the address bar. It should open up a screen asking for a username and password. Here's where the manual might help (www.dlink.com) and do international.
Dlink routers tend to have the same instructions, so here's the help page from the website on a 714 router to establish WEP encryption.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: DIR-300 router and broadband ISP connection,is NAT possible?
With a cable broadband connection, the cable line comes into the cable modem. The cable modem does the work changing the cable signal to a network connection and sends an I.P. address to the computer. With some cable internet providers you can hook the network cable into the in port on a router, wireless or wired, then hook up computers to the router. At this point the router gets the IP from cable and uses it's own IP routing for your internal network. Some broadband providers control your access by the computers mac address which registers with the vendor. If this is the case then the easy way to make it work is to get a router which can clone a mac address so the vendor still sees the same mac address.

Try to configure your router again, maybe that will solve your problem.
