HP J6480 Printer

This printer quits in the middle of a printed page, waits 20 seconds, and then finishes the page.
Will do it only some of the time.
No problems when printing 5 copies each of an 11 page job.

Makes -0- sense as most delays are on black print pages.

Can anyone help?

Printer is not aligned - hp j6480

You should have an icon on your desktop called "HP Solution Center." Click on the icon, and look for "Printer Toolbox." Open the toolbox, and there should be a button which will print an alignment page.
If not, then click open your Start Menu, click on All Programs, scroll down to HP.... and look for Printer Toolbox. and proceed as above. If none of this works, go to : www.HP.com click on Support for your device (model name and number) and you should be able to get an answer there... Good Luck.

Last print line of any doc printed with HP J6480 is cut off

I had been experiencing this problem intermittently for some time, so I finally got a hold of HP support and with the second support technician, I did get a solution that worked for the document I was printing at the time. When Printing, click Printing Preferences, click the Advanced tab, under the Printer Features section, set Minimize margins to On. Per the technician, 'The printable area of the product increases (bottom margin 12 mm to 3 mm), so that printing closer to the edge of the paper.'

Also, he recommended using the printer's Print Preview option under same the Printer Preferences window. When I did, I did in fact see the document's bottom paper being 'cutoff' with the old settings (i.e., Minimize margins Off), with it On, it look okay.

Hope this helps. Let me know if this works for you.

HP psc 1315v (printer, scanner, copier) Will not print

The test page printing out every time it gets turned on is the printer's way of telling you it wants to be calibrated. Lay the test page on the scanner (follow the pictures on the test page) and scan it in. This should fix that problem and the "occasionally after waiting, something prints" problem.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to the "E" on the display or check printer cartridge light. Hope this helps!

Printer printed test page but won't stop printing

Please follow exactly and IN ORDER.

    1. Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds. Turn it on again

    2. Let the printer print the test page.

    3. After the test page is printed, disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer to your computer. DO NOT turn off the printer while disconnecting the USB cable.

    4. Place the test page on the scanner glass and press the SCAN button on the printer. The ON light will flash as the page is being scanned.

    5. Remove the test page when the ON light is steady.

    6. Finally, turn off the printer and wait another 10 seconds. Then turn it on again. No more printing test pages! Yay!

(You may now reconnect the printer to your computer via the USB cable.)

    Test page

Try shutting down your PC and printer. Next, unplug PC from wall outlet. Next, unplug printer USB cable from the PC, then unplug the USB cable from the printer. Unplug the printer from the wall outlet. Wait 30 seconds. Next, plug PC back into outlet, turn it on, and wait until it has completely initialized and is ready to use. Next, plug in the USB cable from the printer to the PC, and turn on the printer. Windows should automatically detect the printer, and will proceed to install it. After the PC finishes the install, test the printer in all modes, including self-cleaning, to see if the problem is eliminated.
