My zune wont properly start up

I turn it on, the zune logo appears, the bar fills up.  no problems with that.  Then when that logo is done it just goes to a blank screen.  I can't do anything, I plug it into my computer and the zune program doesnt recognize it, it just stays on that stupid blank black screen.  Ive let the battery die and i plug it in and it shows the charge icon then goes to the same blank screen.  help!

Have a zune 120g thqt displays a 5 and zune player with a X in the screen. And it says to contact support. It wont cut off or reset it wont do anything at all.

hold the back button and the up button until you see the Zune logo then release. if this doesnt work then you are going to have to reset your Zune....however this will loose all the data on the zune so your music/movies will be completely gone. you are going to need to press and hold the back and up button until the zune logo appears then hold the back,play/pause, and the center button until you see "please wait"
if this doesnt work you have some serious issue.Source(s):

My zune is lock up what do i do

To reset the zune,

1. Make sure that the Hold switch is turned off. 2. Hold down the Back button and Up on the control pad until you see the Zune logo appear on the screen.
Once the device finishes starting up, your Zune should function as normal. This procedure will not delete any of your media files.

ZUNE FROZE WITH LOGO AND PROGRESS BAR

This is a fatal error porblem. If you go to the Zune Microsoft website you will find many others have the same problem. There is no fix for it as of yesterday afternoon. We have had problems with our 30 and 8 gb Zunes and finally returned then to Best Buy and got IPods.

Frozen screen

Got it working again. Disassemble and disconnect the batery for about 10 seconds. This worked to resent mine and it's working again. Not sure if it's permanent, but working for now.

Zune Froze, erased content, and wont sync with PC.

Yes. There are several solutions to this. Rather than retype them, you may want to check out the forums at www.zune.net or support.microsoft.com.

Most likely you'll have to remove the Zune software from the PC, re-install it, reset the Zune.... I think you get the picture.
