Graphics for games only 1/2 the screen on Sony Viao desktop

Is your CD dirty or does it have any cracks? It might just be the problem. Otherwise, it could be corrupt game data. Clean the disc, if it still doesn't work I'd try deleting the game utility data and re-downloading it. Hope this helps in some way or another.

yes you can load game, but if you want to play; high resolution 3D games; then you have to install a Graphic Card in your PC then you can play any type of Game. There are so many catagries of Graphic cards its depend of memory size of the card.

Sometimes things like this are much simpler than they seem, but since the problem appears so severe, it freaks you out. I'm assuming since you didn't state it that you haven't tried many if any fixes at all. So I will start with one of the most basic ones.

First try checking the settings on the video options for your video card... "display options" or the geforce console.. if you are using anti aliasing... what setting is it on? 2x? 3x? Other than that, try using the lowest video settings for the game and see if it still does the same distortions/freezing. if not, your settings may have just been too high, gradulally ease them up to the highest setting you can without it having problems during loading.

If none of that works.. try the following options.

1. Try re-installing the games themselves.
2. Try rolling back your video driver.
3. Try updating your video driver to the newest possible version.

Your cd drive is on its way out call sony i beleive it is an issue they resolve for free.

To check the joystick isn't the problem, go into control panel game controls, then check that the joystick appears and you can move the cross-hair around on screen, most modern joysticks are
auto-calibrating, but you could try running the calibration.

To check the game isn't a problem, unplug the joystick, then use the arrow keys to fly the plane, if it doesn't crash when you bank then it isn't the game.

I assume the game is Combat Flight Simulator 3, as very old games that were written for Windows 95,98,ME series often won't run on Windows NT,2000,XP,Vista as they are completely different versions of Windows. If this is actually Flight Simulator 3, you may need to consider buying a later version of Flight Simulator (FSX is the latest version, but may not run on your laptop).

Other things to try are updating the graphics card driver.

Norton shouldn't need deactivating, although it could cause problems if you're playing online.

Also remember that laptop graphics cards are never as powerful as desktop graphics, and games very rarely specifically support laptop graphics.

The cd is either warped, dirty or scratched. Try it on another computer to verify if you don't see any obvious visual defects.
