If you get 'Keyboard Failure' message it can have two reasons.
1) The keyboard is not working properly. You will have to replace it.
2) If your keyboard has a PS/2 jack, the PS/2 keyboard port of your computer is not working. Buy an USB keyboard.
You can take your computer to the store and check which type of new keyboard (PS/2 or USB) works with your computer, before paying for it.

Laptop will not respond

It sounds to me that you may have an issue with the keyboard itself, as most BIOS will stop on a keyboard error unless told otherwise. But, this could be a malfunctioning keyboard, or a disconnected keyboard. 1 way to test either is to press the caps lock, num lock or scroll lock keys and verifying the corresponding light turns on and off with the button presses. If they do not respond, it's likely the keyboard has become disconnected internally. Other issues may also cause this to happen, but they are harder to test for. If it does respond, then it's more likely to be a keyboard failure, and a replacement of the keyboard may be required.

Hope this helps!
