I have your red popcorn maker and it has worked fine for quite a time..however, this model does not have the vented top to allow steam to escape. Steam leaking from the group when the steam function is turned on:
This is normal - as there is a spring valve which stops the steam escaping normally, however if you are not using the steam wand - steam has to escape somewhere and is vented through the group.

It will not affect the steaming - but you are better to make coffee 1st and then steam the milk.

How do you clean this? I have one that seems to be having the same problem. In the inside of the machine the top is rusting as well as the brackets that hold the kettle. How do you clean this is this food safe the way it is? Can we repeat this was some type of Pete that would protect as well as be safe to eat popcorn?

You should return it to where you bought it. They are not repairable.

Hi. Sounds like a blocked or jammed brew unit. Remove brew unit and clean. To properly do this, you need to disassemble the brew unit. Canbe quite hard to do. The brew units are usually held together with plastic tabs, and may have to remove some screws to allow these tabs to release units assembly. Dazza REPAIRER

If your in a hard wayter area the basket overflow valve may be need cleaning. Fill with white vinegar and run a full cycle. Rinse by running 2 or 3 cycles with clean water. You may need to repeat the vinegar cycle if the problem persists.

I think it probably is the heater core leaking.As the water eats up to boiling point small cracks will allow steam to escape. Probably smells like coolant.

That big nut is the pressure relief valve. It should normally be closed, unless the machine overheats, in which case it will vent the steam, thereby preventing an explosion.
The valve design means that it's somewhat normal for some steam to vent as the machine heats up, but once it gets close to working temperature, it should seal.
Pavoni does now have a replacement valve that avoids this problem. When your machine needs a major service, hopefully more than 5 years from now, you may decide to get the upgraded valve fitted.
