This is a tutorial on how to add APN settings to HTC phones for your network providers. Example phone used is a HTC Hero but process is same for all HTC models. APN and Data Settings Change for HTC Phones
Go to settings -> wireless controls
Go to Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
Click Menu and select New APN
All you need to add for most networks is just the APN setting which can be obtained from your simcards network provider
Press Menu and Save
You are ready and have configured data connection settings.

Now select "start" select "internet explorer" and try it for the connection... When internet is connecting it ll show "Connecting to GPRS" You ll be getting "locating" and "opening" and the webpage
first u insert sim and start the machine and wait for open and massage will come automatic seting for this network u sould do yes and wait it will configure automatic seting on device and after setting device will ask restart and done restart that u can use internet surfing on your device if you have GPRS connection from service provider other wise massage will come remote computer has end this programm.

After browsing a lot of sites and experimenting with the settings finally I was able to configure my HTC P3400i with Vodafone Live support without any help from the Vodafone customer care (who were very bad and rude when I called them for getting the setting). The settings is working fine for me in Bangalore. Hope this helps all who bought this phone and struggling for getting the GPRS setting for HTC P3400i.
Below is the step by step instruction: Step 1 Start->Settings->Connections->Tasks->Add a new modem connection:
Enter a name for the connection: <give any name>
Select a modem: Cellular Line(GPRS)
click next
Acess point name: portalnmms
User name: <blank> Password: <blank> Domain:* <blank>
Go to Advanced->TCP/IP select radio button "Use server-assigned IP address"
Go to Advanced->Servers select radio buttion "Use server-assigned address"
Step3: Start->Settings->Connections->Advanced In "Select which networks are automatically used"-> click the Select Networks Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: Select the Connection name which you configured in Step 1
Programs that automatically connect to a private network should connect using: Select the Connection name which you configured in Step 1

hi prasath i am using the same handset just let me know is ur handset is properly app unlocked and one more thing that error is about ur gprs settings .Currently i am using Vodafone Gprs and i have manually configured gprs settings .if u wamt more info just send me an email me at [email protected] and use opera mini instead of winwap it works great on dash
For BSNL South prepaid or post paid use following settings:
Start/ Settings/ Connections /GPRS
Connects to : Internet Access point: gprssouth.cellone.in
Leave other items blank.
Start/ Settings/ Connections /Proxy
Donot creat any proxy
You donot require any thing else. GPRS will work on your mobile and also in Internet share. Internet share works with cable and bluetooth. Browse on mobile or laptop !!! 9448834529
