Normally the screen will displayWireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.
On some laptops there will be a button just above the keyboard or on the side or in front of the laptop..

Make sure it is turned on in your BIOS hit f10 or the toggle switch at startup and look under Devices. both wireless options should be set to ON.I found this to be an issue with the intel 2200bg wireless cards.
