It started 1 st. Message no tonner 2nd No pick paper ! In 2 days. I did turn upside down the unit to see and have access. I checked to see if anything is clogged or stucked Suddenly after the 2 I fixed - the printing was bad as described. I changed the cartridge - also with an original. The scanning works. Before - nothing to print - the copy was blanc. Thanks DT

SOURCE: Only printing top few lines

check the print driver in control panel...... if the correct driver for the printer is not installed, or corrupted, it can send invalid instructions to the printer, but let me check....... ahah! found it..... it's a carriage stall (not the horse kind :-') ) but the print head carriage is jamming for some reason, either there is some grit on the carriage bar, or a missing tooth in the drive belt, or the timing strip is dirty..... the easiest to fix yourself would be to clean the timing strip. the timing strip is a clear plastic tape usually behind or below the carriage bar. it looks like it has a grey horizontal stripe across it (actually it is many tiny vertical black stripes that provide the printer with motion and dot timing information). carefully with a window cleaner soaked paper towel, and without too much pressure (that would unhook one of the ends of the strip)wipe the strip clean on both front and back. also if the printer happens to be in an unlocked condition (you can do this by removing power during the head positioning cycle), try moving the printhead at a moderate speed back and forth along the carriage bar and see if there's anywhere where it binds up or you feel more than normal resistance, the printer needs repair, but at least you can tell the technician where to start looking....

SOURCE: Black lines on scanned copies

Try this. Lift the lid to expose the top glass. To the left of the main glass panel, you will see a narrow glass strip. Clean this strip using a soft cloth or sponge moistened with a nonabrasive glass cleaner, then dry it off with a dry chaois cloth or cellulose sponge. A.

SOURCE: The print cartridge cradle cannot move.

"The print cartridge cradle cannot move."
I fixed this problem by disconnecting the power cord from the power-strip and connecting it directly into the wall. My printer was not getting enough voltage from the power-strip. I hope this helps.

4 wide horizontal blurry lines in printed document

Either sensitive drum of the tonner is damaged or the high temperature fuser roller damaged. Check and replace.

There is a horizontal line grey in color

If this a P2035 printer using a toner cart with a drum in it. The drum has been exposed to light or has a smudge on it. take the cart out and look at the drum. This is a round light blue tube located at the bottom of the cart. It is the drum because it is the only thing in the printer that will print a defect three times on the paper. You could also print about 0 black sheets of paper through the printer and it will go away. This is because the drum coating is in layers like an onion. You must get rid of the exposed layer to get to on that has not been exposed to light.

When you print each page has a gray/black line running down the page from top to bottom about 2.5 inches from the edge of the paper. Sometimes it is darker and other times it is lighter. We have tried...

While the line is showing up on the output pages.
Stop printing and put paper in the manual feed tray (tray 1).
Start printing again. As a page gets pulled into the printer about 1/2 way open the top cover.
Pull out the toner and look at the page inside the printer. If it doesn't have the grey/black line, get the fuser replaced. It is defective.

2" black horizontal line appears on paper when I fax, print,

Check the wondow where the paper passes to be scanned. You will probably find some debris or white out stuck on the glass. That is usually the cause of vertical lines on sent faxes.

Top to Bottom gray line on left side of Copied Page

hello
does the grey line appear if you scan true the "upper" scanner.(set paper on top of printer and sscan it that way)? you should also clean the smal slim glass that is at the side of the big scanner glass.
also try to remove all cartridges and tilt them side to side several times. then put them back and test your printer.

Horizontal black and white lines are coming on copy

you don't mention whether the document you are copying also appears on the paper. If it does you could have 1 of 2 problems-
The drum cleaning system could be at fault or-
the fuser roller has picked up some **** easy test...... run copies and when the 1st copy edge appears switch OFF. This is a crash stop. Now examine the sheets in there. Is the stripe on the copy before the fuser (Heat) roller? If yes you could have a drum cleaning problem, usually fixed by changing the drum module. If no and the stripe appears after the heat roll, the problem is with the fuser system, dirty rolls etc. There are a number of other problems with stripes, but you have to start somewhere! If the document does NOT appear on the copy, forget all above, could be scan or ROS problem
