I have a 99 chevy malibu with roughlt 220 thousand miles... make a long story short I was in a fender bender at about 25 mph. Minor. Impact front left panel. Completely drivable from the scene. Well I only drove it about 5 times after that, no problem. Then I drove a dif car and let it sit a few months. Making sure to start it every week to keep battery going. Then the problem. Drive the car the engine runs a littlehigher than normal then goes down to normal in matter of minutes. Thinking everything is fine. Turn car off to get gas. Has a hard time starting. Start driving and barely accelorating the feels like it wants to take off on me. Rpm spikes and engine revs everytime pedal is hit. To where I put into neutral when I need to stop for fear I may ram into someone! I get home never drive it again. But every now and them start it up. Same problem. While in park idles a little high after I start it then if I hit the gas while in park, rpm goes wild, engine rev. And not only that tempature gage won't register engine temp. It doesn't move a bit. HELP!

Sounds like maybe a motor mount may have broken,if you
open the hood and put the car in drive ,then neutral then reverse
the engine should only "rock" about an inch or so,if it really jumps
that is the problem.

TAILLIGHTS,DASHLIGHTS,PARK LIGHTS WONT WORK,FUSE KEEPS BLOWING

Do you have a trailer light harness on this car? Sounds like the rear light harness has been shorted somewhere. Take a look for damaged wires under the rear bumper cover. Also look for wire harness damage in the rear hatch area, like something slid hitting the harness. Do you live where there are pack rats? The short could also be up front. Has the car been in a fender bender?

Manual transmission will not go into reverse

Anythings possible I guess but first I'd just get that area & linkages lubed up first. You may even be able to remove boot inside & spray downward from there. Use a spray grease like white lithium or similar.
