Filling in the gaps between the kitchen counter sides and stove

I have a Kenmore stove and there are gaps between the sides of the stove and the kitchen counters. The food keeps falling into the gaps when I am cooking. I looked up some "gap fillers" online, but they were all made of plastic and looked pretty cheap on the photos. I have a newly remodeled kitchen with green granite counters and the stove is black; and I want to find some gap fillers that would look very tasteful and top-notch.

Sorry I've selected an incorrect model number. The oven is a Kenmore gas range, model 790.

ditto - black granite counter top and blank range at exact same level

Is the gap constant? How wide is the gap?

One more thing; is your counter top above or below the edge of your oven?

You just want to fill the gaps at the top on both sides? Is this your oven? http://www.viewpoints.com/images/review/...

I own a Kenmore stove model #639539J2. The glass

yes. open the oven door to the first "click". it kind of stops about a quarter of the way open. most ovens you grab both sides of the oven door and pull up. some models have a couple of screws you have to take out before you can remove the oven door. then lay it down with the insie of the door facing up and take out all the screws holding the oven door together. some may be on the sides or the top and bottom of the door. when apart, clean first with easy off, then clean several times with windex till streaks are gone. assemble door in reverse and put back on stove.

Kenmore Oven and stove not igniting

If both top and oven are not igniting, then most likely you need an ignitor board. I should be located behind the left side of the console as you are looking from the front of the stove. I will look it up to be sure. There should be a tech sheet on the back panel of the stove to help in checking the boards.
