A DHLC card is pinned the same as a Panasonic 123211 and TD-1232 system for compatibility. That means that there are 3 pairs for every extension and 3X8=24. In your triple set, the first pair is T&R, which is the ANALOG voice pair. It's used as 1/2 the connection for an Analong Panasonic phone (APITS) or a single line set. The second pair is D1&D2, used for a DIGITAL phone. In theory, if you're only setting a 76xx phone, a single pair from this pair to the second pair of the RJ-11 jack (orange pair of the cable or black/yellow wires) would make the digital phone work. We use 2-pair jumper just as a marker to know it's a DHLC block. The 3rd pair is used for OHVA on a 7130(!) and any other analog phone that had that feature. Which means, it's obsolete today, but you could take that TD-1232 system cable, plug it inot a TDA/TDE DHLC-8 card and move on to the next job.
On the back of the 7630 phone there's another jack marked TO TEL. Just for fun, plug your 7630 into another 7630. HAH! That's what a DXDP port does.
