Transferred videos from Sony Handycam Camcorder dont have sound

It seems problem with hard disk that need to be formatted, please make sure you have copied/ transferred recorded files in computer or format HD will delete every thing on HD.
Press Menu button on lcd screen and select settings then select HD and select Format, it will take little time to format hard disk.
Now you can record in camcorder.

I have an old video camcorder. Sony SteadyShot Handycam Vision. Model CCD-TRV57. The screen flashes C 31:23. Can anyone help me with this problem?

the easy way to transfer your footage from your camcorder to pc
is using the firewire cable or the usb. for me the firewire is better
and you can use roxio 10 to edit your video or to put in dvd.

Sony CCD-TRV218E is analog PAL camcorder and can not be hooked with PC directly.
Computer (PC) requires digital format files to store on HDD and your camcorder has no digital file format to directly transfer in to computer.

You can hook your camcorder with DVD recorder to burn a DVD. Now you have digital files on DVD and can be transferred in PC.

Check your battery is fully charge then reset it to factory setting..

Error code E:31:00 shows problem in Hard Disk. Try to power up camera while attached with PC, you might get access to its HD.

I have tried to copy movies to the computer but when I try to play them on the computer, there is no sound I transferred the videos I recorded onto my computer but no sound when playing them on the PC. The file is also a video clip file not an audio/video file unlike other files that I transferred from my other camcorder
