Visonic power plus pet pir triggers false alarms

I have installed a visonic power plus alarm system with pet pirs. Unfortunately the pirs keep triggering the alarm system when ever the dog is left in the house, other than that the alarm works perfectly When there is no dog in the property, it is a miniature sausage dog so I don't think it's a size poblem. The Pet pirs are set at the correct height and I have put them in different positions but with no success. As I said the alarm works perfectly when the property is empty is it possible that the problem could be with the CPU?

SOURCE: The problem I put to FixYa was: I inadvertently

Unless the installer code is stored in a battery backed memory (not likely) you don't have much of a chance to recover this OTHER than to call the factory for help. You MAY have to send the unit in as they probably have a piece of equipment that can backdoor reset it.

Low battery warning reappearing on Visonic Powermax pir motion sensor

If the low battery warning keeps reappearing on your Visonic Powermax PIR motion sensor, it is likely that the battery needs to be replaced. Here are the steps you can follow to replace the battery:
  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of the sensor by pressing the tab and pulling the cover off.
  2. Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  3. Insert a fresh CR123A lithium battery into the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the battery with the positive (+) end facing outward.
  4. Reattach the battery cover to the sensor.
  5. Test the sensor to ensure that it is functioning properly.
If the low battery warning continues to appear even after you have replaced the battery, there may be a problem with the sensor itself. In this case, it is best to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for assistance.

Ademco motion detector false alarms

Aside from any sensitivity adjustments, after all a false alarm caused by falling objects, pets or juicy bugs is not a false alarm..it's an environmental mismatch of sensor to the area, some motion detector false alarms are caused by circuit faults, possibly during the install, where the wire terminals were turned too hard and twisted slightly and are not as solid as the manufacturer intended. This twisted terminal mount could cause false alarms when either the power circuit or the sensor circuit loses continuity. Intermittent power (caused by weak/loose/nicked/damaged wiring, a weak terminal on the board or power supply problems could cause annoying faults that are hard to trace. Diligence and a good eye to spot these problems and correct them will help you determine the cause of false alarms.

In the case of wireless devices, troubleshooting is usually limited to spotless battery contacts, good batteries and proper placement.

Doesnt seam very sensetive changed from regular to this for the dog but dosent pick up people as quick from all locations can walk in and out of range walking up to it

This is a very nice unit for people with pets who have had it with false alarms caused by pets. This is a digital, dual-element sensor and does some fine handywork in interpreting what is in its range. It's mounting location ( height from the floor), it's environment and the time you leave it alone before you test it all contribute to the 'interpretation' of movement. If the test subject is over 50 pounds, leaves the room empty for ten minutes for it to 'learn' the room, and then moves across it's path more than 4 feet without it triggering, you may need to adjust it's location.
Note: This unit can even mount on a ceiling, do it's job well, and still allow the pets to move around freely....one of many good sensors made for problem locations.

I have a Bravo 3P pet immune PIR and it says on the connector that the contacts are normally closed. Unfortunately they are normally open. Is there something that I am missing? Even the specs on the...

To work properly, this unit has to have normally closed loop circuit. With power applied, and no motion in its sight, should measure 000 ohms (plus any resistor value in series). When activated..the contact should show infinite resistance(open).
You are only missing something if you're testing it with you in the the motion area.

Trash it otherwise.

Hi Liam here I just installed a networx nx4 and when powered up key pad has 1,2,3,4 flashing rapidly with service light on I was able to get rid of service light but zones still flashing And there is only...

This could be a supervision problem. If zone expanders, gsms, keypads, etc. are added to this alarm panel, you must enroll the device with the control panel. This is done by entering into programming mode ( * + 8 + {go code} ) and then simply exiting programming mode by hitting the exit button. The GE NetworX control panel and it's affiliated compatible devices will auto-enroll after about 15 seconds. The default 'go' code is 9713, but this is usually changed by the alarm company installer.
