Tv would come on for a second turn off..power button sats flashing and tv wont come back on and it just happened.. we turned it off for about 2 mins and wanted to turn it back on and thats what happened

Press and hold the power button on tv for 12 seconds wait a min then turn tv back on, if that dont work then try the button for 30 sec and wait then back on if that wont work then send it in to be fixed.

How to auto program this remote
1. Turn on the device to be programmed.
2. Press and hold SET for three seconds
3 Press the corresponding Device Button (TV, SAT, VCR, DVD,CBL,Audio)
4. Aim the remote at the device. Press the power button once and release. Each time the Remote searches for a code, the device button LED flashes twice. When the device turns off, immediately press ENTER to save the code (before the device button LED flashes again) This could take several minutes.

Check the Flyback Transformer and Hot. especially if its a soft ticking sound

1. Using Programming Codes

Find the TV code for your TV in the list from the Platinum Remote Control User's Guide (See References). For example, if you have a Kenwood TV, the three possible codes to try are 506, 573 and 712.

Press the "TV" button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat," "VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the "TV" button and it will be flashing.

Enter the first code using the keypad. If you want the remote to control all functions on the TV, enter the code and press the # key. The "TV" button will flash three times.

Press the power button to turn off the TV and turn it back on again. If the code was correct, the TV will turn off and on. If the TV doesn't power down or back on, follow Step 6.

Try the next code from the list. Follow Steps 2 through 4 using each code until one turns off the TV.
2. Programming Without Codes

Press the "TV" button on the remote. Hold down the button until the "Sat," "VCR" and "Aux" buttons light up. Release the "TV" button and it will be flashing.

Press and release the "Power" button on the remote.

Press the arrow up key and stop. If the TV doesn't turn off, press the arrow up key again. Continue pressing the arrow up key until the TV turns off. Do not go fast when moving through the codes or you could miss the correct code. Press the arrow key and wait at least 20 seconds to see if the code works before pressing the arrow key again.

Press the # key on the remote when the TV turns off to lock in the code.

Or you can:
1. Press "TV" button
2. Hold "P" (program button) till the "TV" button flashes once then twice
3. Enter 9 9 1, and the "TV" should flash twice
4. Aim the remote at the TV and hold the Power button down for at least 3 seconds. (Remote automatically goes to first code but it probably wont work so go on to step 5)
5. Press CH+ repeatedly till the TV shuts off and stop immediately!
6. Hold "P" for 2 seconds
7. Hold "Select" for 2 seconds
8. Hold "P" for 2 seconds
9. Hold Power for 2 seconds and TV should turn back on

I'm not sure what the remote is not operating on: TV or receiver? I have provided instructions on how to program the remote to your TV or readdress the remote to your receiver.

Readdress remote to receiver:

Remote: All Other Remotes

1. Go to System Info screen
2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4. Press the pound (#) button
5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

Program remote to TV:

Remote: Basic Remote (Television Only)

1. Turn the Television On
2. Press and Hold the TV Power button for three seconds until the LED flashes
3. Press and release the TV Power button
4. Press and release the Up or Down Arrow on the remote until the television turns off
5. After the television turns off, press and release the OK button.
6. Test functionality with the TV
7. Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the volume and mute the television.

Try this...1) turn on your tv set manually.2) on you dish remote..press and hold the "TV" mode button next to the "SAT" button.when all of the other mode buttons light up, let the "TV" button go...it should be flashing.3) Press the blank power button(The top red button in the top center of the remote).4) press the UP or DOWN button at the rate of about 1 per second until the tv turns off.4) When the tv turns off...press the # key on the bottom right of the remote...this stores the code and you should be ready to go...please try this first..It should work.If the scan doesn't work...The only code for Orion is "694".I hope this was helpful....

Here's the basic troubleshooting:

1. Make sure that no front panel buttons are inadvertently stuck in an "engaged" position.
2. Disconnect ALL devices from the TV.
3. Press the SYSTEM RESET button and hold for 10 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
   
4. Press and hold POWER and MENU buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds. Proceed if the problem still exist.
5. Unplug the TV from it's power source for various times, ranging between 5 minutes and 24 hours.
6. If it still shuts down, press the DEVICE and MENU buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold it for 5 seconds to activate the Error Code Operational Check. The status LED indicator will then flash denoting a two digit code.
   
7. Count the number of flashes then pauses for about a half second then flashes again. The first number of flashes indicates the first digit of the error code and the second number of flashes indicates the second digit of the code. For example, if the error code is "35", the LED will flash 3 times, pauses, then flashes 5 times. The error code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Please let me know the code you got and I'll tell where the problem lies and how to fix it.

If it is the power LED that is flashing orange 2times every five seconds , it suggests that the Lamp Cover was not reinstalled correctly. Remove and reinstall it

Solution is simple....

First, unplug power cable from the back of your TV. You will notice the flashing light is still flashing. Don't worry, go to the Second step.

Second, keep pressing on the POWER button, located on the panel at the top of your TV, to shut off your TV. This will stop the flashing light from appearing.

Third, Plug the power cable back onto your TV

Fourth, press the POWER botton ONCE, using the same button used in the Second step to turn your TV back on.

Fifth, you will see the POWER light comes on, as normal.

Sixth, using your remote control, press the green button to turn on. Your TV should work as normal.
