Porsche cdr22 volume increases and button will not dcrease

The volume increases by itself I can be driving and the volume increases and display changes 17, 18, 19 etc. when I try to decrease volume using the button although you can feel the button move the volume changes between 18, 17,18, etc even though only turning volume down. Turned ignition the other day and volume was deafening had to switch radio on & off a few times and the same - left for 10 mins then OK. This is intermittent but seems to be happening more and more. Any ideas

Most of these things use an IC to control things like volume etc. Chances are that will have failed.

Sorry to be stupid, but what's an IC? and is it expensive to get fixed

An IC is an Iteregrated Circuit and electronic part. Without knowing the number of the device it's hard to say what the cost of that will be, as they are not fixed prices for them. I've included an image of what they could look like you can see the numbers on them.

No sound

First check if your nuvi is not on mute by touching the button next to the volume that reads mute, then you try to increase the volume. To increase the volume:
  1. from the main menu,
  2. Touch the volume,
  3. Then you adjust it with the left and right direction button to increase it or reduce it.
If that does not solve the problem, then you need to reset the nuvi, by holding the power button for about 15 seconds. It will restart itself. Or you can remove the battery and install it back in. If that does not solve the problem, then it is an internal problem.

How do I reset the size of the text displayed on text messages . The size got smaller and I'm not sure why or how

if you press your volume button on the side of the phone up like your turning your volume up it will increase the size of your text messages, you can increase and decrease the size by pressing the volume button up or down while the text is open on most samsung phones

Sound increases as you accelerate. can you switch off?

I know what you mean. Used to be a source of irritation in this otherwise super-quiet car. It was like "hey... the music plays far too loud now please drive a little slower dad". Really irritating on the Autobahn, constantly fiddling on that volume knob.

Interestingly, the instruction manual for the business CD main unit gave no clues at all! Then I found the solution at the bimmerfest BMW forum:

"
1.Power down the unit (using the knob) and power back up in the radio mode
(either AM or FM).
2. Hold down the "m" button (right of the display) until your display shows
a serial # xxxxxxxxxxx.
3. Using the "+" or "-" buttons that surround the center "musical note
symbol" button to the left of your display, scroll until "GAL 3" comes up,
which is factory setting. Using the number buttons 1 thru 6 below your
display, press the number "1". Your display will now read "GAL 1 ".
4. Power down the unit again (using the knob) and when you power back up,
your new setting will be effective!
5. To confirm that the new setting is active, repeat steps 2 & 3 to check
your "GAL" setting.
6. Enjoy your HK unit's volume the way YOU want to hear it!
"

I assume there are slightly different versions of this in different models but it goes something like this, the keyword you are looking for in the menu system is "GAL" which is a German acronym for speed-sensitive volume control (Geschwindigkeitsabhängige Lautstärkenregelung für Radio).

Good luck!

Volume increases by itself

This could be a sticky button or a bad key controller! The key controller is the button board, this stream the commands to the main board (main unit). not to hard to replace, if your somewhat handy! But will require the case (back panel) to be removed. Good luck, hope this is helpful!

Volume increases on its own intermittently

When the volume increased did the display show it doing so as if someone was turning the knob?  I mean did the volume go from like level 15 to 30 or did the unit's level stay constant while the audio volume increased?
Were you alone or sharing the room with a jokester who has a universal remote?
Does this problem occur when the batteries are removed from your remote?
Are you sure the 'volume up' button on the unit itself is disengaging properly after being pressed?

Hi, I have a samsung le32r74bdx lcd tv and the volume has just gone to 100 and i can't turn it down?

First, start by unplugging set to try to reset. Then make sure that all settings in audio menu are correct. Also look for stuck volume up button on set and on remote. Sometimes buttons get lodged under surrounding frame. Also try to push volume down button on tv and watch for display on tv to see any change. If when you release button volume increases by itself, remove batteries from remote to eliminate it as cause. If nothing you try works expect to replace main pcb. You can probably price it online with model number. Good luck, Russmann.

Volume and menu does not display

I had this problem on my Aquos (LC-46D62U). It was NOT a hardware problem. I recommend turning off the television. Next unplug the television for 5 to 10 seconds. This resets something for the television. Plug it back in and turn on the television. You should now be able to get your volume and other on-screen displays.
