Having an
actual allergy to the cocoa bean is very unlikely as it's a really rare
allergy. People who don't feel good after eating chocolate might be having a
reaction to one of the ingredients which are common causes of allergies. These
include; milk, peanuts/ nuts, soya, gluten, berries and caffeine.
A mild but
still uncomfortable allergic reaction might involve hives, itching, watery eyes
etc. For these symptoms you can get an over the counter anti histamine or eye
drops.
But if an allergic reaction involves difficulty breathing, tightness in the throat or any other signs of a severe allergic reaction, medical help should be called immediately.
