I hooked up everything correctly and notwithstanding, the remote doesn't work at all.
I tried FOUR different, fresh batteries, proving batteries don't cause this problem. I bought and tried 2 INSIGNIA units and can't make the remote work on either.
Per page 16 of Insignia's User Guide, I tried to program my (new) universal remote control to control the converter box and complete the setup but that was unsuccessful, too. Furthermore, the remote didn't list "converter box" as a component, so I variously tried entering "TV" and "CBL (presumably "cable") as the component, but that wouldn't work either.
As far as the installation goes is the appearance of a screen on my T.V. entitled "Install Guide" and the text "Welcome..Before starting be sure that the TV antenna is connected" and at the bottom "NEXT" with a rightward arrow but nothing on my remote will make the screen scroll to the next screen.
Could it be that an entire run of remote controls is factory-defective? (BTW, if you have a solution, kindly include every step, instead of leaving out steps, assuming that everyone does or should know each step.) MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Hi,
Bubbabear64.
I've tried it on 3 t.v.s: (1) JVC Model C-13810 manufactured in 1997; (2)
Toshiba MV13P3 mfrd. in 2004; and (3) Toshiba MV 13L2 mfrd. in May 2001.
Also, I should add that I attempted both modes of installing the converter
box: (1) using the coaxial cable and hooking one end to the RF
jack on my converter box and connecting the other end to the “Antenna IN” jack
of my t.v.; (2) connecting the Insignia-supplied, colored audio and video jacks
to the converter box and the t.v.
Furthermore,
I purchased 2 INSIGNIA units and
tried installing them.
Consequently,
that proves that neither my televisions nor my batteries were defective.
When , per page 16 of Insignia’s User Guide, I tried, as a workaround, to make my universal remote control the converter box, I variantly
tried the remote control programming codes of both Zenith and Lucky Goldstar (LG) because Lucky Goldstar manufactures
the identical units for Best Buy under the Insignia house brand as well as for
Zenith.
Another
thing I can rule out is having the t.v. on the wrong channel. I tuned the t.v. to Channel 3.
So I have no working t.v. I've tried everything I could think of. Hopefully you can think of something else.

Thank you so much for your fast reply, BubbaBear64.
In answer to your question of February 18th, 2009, it's a remote control issue.
Neither remote control in either of my two INSIGNIA converter boxes works with any of my three T.V.s The setup works perfectly until one gets to the step where the remote has to be pressed.
Hope this can be fixed soon as I have no t.v. service whatsoever.
Hopefully and anxiously: Sunny RainbowHeart
That was nice of Insignia not to include the owners manual for download on thier website. They have a universal remote code section on the website but it's incomplete.
Is this a universal remote issue or is this an issue with the Nvidia digital to analog converter box?
What is the make and model of the tv you are trying to program on your remote?
