I'm afraid you have a bad board. I had a neighbor with the same problem and he had to replace just the stove top part. Hopefully, yours is just the temp setting part, but it may not be that if you can control the oven setting.

SOURCE: AEG Oven

Probably there is an electrical relay that has failed.. or if electronically controlled, the equivalent circuitry. Or maybe a thermostat has failed. Be careful with anything electrical, as these kinds of faults may need a trained tradesperson. They can be dangerous to play with, as you need to be able to take electrical measurements and use tools to repair this yourself.

If it is a fan assisted oven, then make sure the fan is working o/k, if it is, then I would suspect that the oven thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced.

My aeg oven has a child lock feature which I can't turn off could you please help

Which model do you have? For the AEG Competence B9820, you toggle the Child Lock on and off by pressing and holding the Selection Clock and - buttons simultaneously until the Child Lock changes state. See https://www.manualslib.com/manual/611343/Aeg-Competence-B9820-4.html?page=45 . For the BE7314401, press clock and down arrows for ~2 seconds until you hear a chime and the lock turns on or off. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/444474/Aeg-Be7314401.html?page=22 has the details.

Please add a comment with the model number for direction specific to your oven. I will attempt to determine if there is a different combination to enable or disable the child lock feature. Note: at least one AEG microwave/grill uses Press "Micro+Grill" once. Then press "Clear/Stop" 5 times to toggle the child lock on and off.

I hope this helps.

The grill on my Hotpoint EW 41 Electric freestanding cooker has stopped working after my wife put aluminum foil into the grill pan which then touched the grill element causing it to 'blow' and so...

The grill element should not 'blow' by just touching it - it should be earthed. The elements do gradually disintegrate over time & the inside wire element either fractures or touches the element casing causing the mains to trip. Sometimes this makes it trip just once & then stops working. Replace the element - not usually any fuse in circuit with this. Often held in by 2 screws adjacent to the element at back of oven and conections via Fast-ons- Rick

hi you can get instructions fron serviceforce.co.uk . follow the instruction link and enter pnc no. however i think your problem is a controling stat for the cooling fan if the fan does not switch on the oven overheats the cabinet and switches off like you describe. its located in the wiring loom behind the control panel. the part is 899661927356-9 costs circa £26. hope this helps
