It could be either the SD or SU boards going. check the cable connections and make sure the ribbon cables are seated properly.

SOURCE: panasonic th-50pz85u problem

My problem turned out to be silly but simple. I recently took my TV off the wall and mounted it on a stand alone platform. I snaked the power plug through the back tube and left too much tension at the entry point for power. If you leave the slightest tension the female connector will jiggle and it will shut off. It normally takes 3 minutes before you can retry and then the problem persists. Try allowing more slack and/or buying a new power connector to make sure the plug connects correctly. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Panny TH-42PZ80U Plasma TV No display on Power-up

I had this same exact issue. Panasonic sent a repair tech to my house since I was still under warranty. The tech was able to fix me up in about 10 minutes. He replaced the "brain" or A-board and now I'm back in business. This is NOT a power supply issue. The brain is the circuit board that has all the inputs attached to it (component, hdmi, etc...).

hope this helps!

My plasma tv TH-42PZ80U has a one inch wide yellow strip down the middle of the tv. At some times it goes pink in colour. Can this be fixed and is it worth the while fixing.

First of all change the input to some other which you are sure works well. Then if the problem persists, this might need attention by a qualified service technician.

Screen has a long black line down the center.

I also have the TH42PZ80U and I just had the certified Panasonic repair person out. The problem is this is the THIRD time in two years. Any quesses on what's wrong? It's a bad panel, again. That's right, three bad panels in the two years I've own this tv. I am now one month out of the panel warranty and guess how much the bid is to replace the panel. $1542! I only paid $1300 for it. Panasonic better make this right. I think a whole new tv is in order just for my trouble. After reading about so many of us having this problem, we are probably getting close to a class action law suit.

Vertical line on LCD TV Panel

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Philips plasma tv vertical black stripe

Hi
If there is no picture behind the stripe and the edges are well-defined, then one of the display driver ICs has failed. Philips displays can be made by several manufacturers - usually Samsung. The ICs are bonded to the flexible ribbon in most cases, and replacement is an expensive specialist job - and in many cases is simply not possible.
A shadow on the picture is much better - usually due to interference.

Sony Bravia XBR 40" LCD

First, HORIZONTAL CENTER.
1) Press MENU.
2) Scroll to SETTINGS.
3) Scroll to SCREEN.
4) Go to HORIZONTAL CENTER. Move the picture to the right. Hopefully, the line will go away. Otherwise, there is a problem with the pixels or the signal processor. Call 1-800-222-SONY. Or, http://eservice.sony.com. Have a high-limit credit card handy for out of warranty repairs. Sorry about that.
