I am having the same problem, it is like the heating element for the sealer is broken. My unit actually will NOT seal if I push the manual seal, but the vacuum works.

SOURCE: Tillia Foodsaver VAC 370 won't stop vaccuming to seal

My Foodsaver 820 wouldn't stop vacuuming, and after fiddling with it and doing a little research, I located the vacuum switch on the circuit board and de-soldered it (verry simple, only 2 solder points). On the underside of the switch it looks kind of like an allen head screw. NOTE before attempting this, make note of how far the screw is recessed into the housing and/or count how may turns it takes to remove it! I removed the screw and spring and sprayed electrical contact cleaner in the holes and in the hole where there is a little brass disc. (Wear safety goggles for this) The little brass disc is what makes the contacts that turn the pump off after reaching the necessary vacuum. Mine was gummed up and stuck so it would never make contact to shut off. I reassembled it, and re-soldered it back on the board. I then put the whole thing back together and it works like new.

You could probably make the same repair without removing the piece from the board since there is a hole in the circuit board where you can gain access to the screw, but it will be messy. If you have any experience with soldering, it is about as simple as it gets

SOURCE: Foodsaver Food Sealer Vacuum V2240 T: Foodsaver Professional II Turbo. Vacuum pump work...

This is likely happening because the unit cannot detect that a vacuum has formed, and as a result, the unit never "turns on" the heating element to seal the bag, with the gaskets around the vacuum channel being the probable culprit. The Foodsaver gaskets will deform and/or dry out with time, just like in any device, but you don't necessarily have to replace them. I've tried this inexpensive solution on my own Foodsaver V2490, and it works perfectly.
Buy some food-grade silicone grease and apply it to both the upper and lower gaskets. I remove the gaskets and coat both sides with a thin layer of grease before replacing them in their respective channels. And since this grease will be absorbed and/or dry out with time, you will have to do this occasionally, so I also flip the gaskets (i.e. turn them over) whenever I apply the grease.
You can buy a 2 oz container of silicone grease at any dive store, or you can buy it over the Internet by searching for "Trident silicone grease".
This is a link where you can buy it for around $7.00:
Dolphin Dive Center
I do not work at this dive center, but I am a scuba diver and already had some grease that I use for the numerous rubber gaskets in my gear. The 2 oz. jar will last you several years, and you will find many other uses for it around the house since the grease will last longer than a spray.

SOURCE: The V2240 does not seal

It's possible that liquid is getting into the sealer or the seal is dirty. Here's a link for a pdf that explains possible problems and solutions.

Roomba 4210 won't start

  • Lift Roomba off the floor and place it in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle.
  • If Roomba did not resume cleaning, lift Roomba and turn it over.* Inspect the Side Wheels for dirt or obstructions.
  • Test the Side Wheels by pushing them in and out and making sure they rotate freely. Place Roomba in the center of the room and restart the clean cycle

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
    Air filter:
If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up dirt and has no suction the air filter might be clogged. Remove the filter and either clean or replace it as needed.
Exhaust Filter If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the exhaust filter might be clogged. Remove and clean the filter, replace it if its torn or damaged.

Vacuum Hose If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum hose might be clogged. Remove the hose from the vacuum cleaner, stretch it out straight, shine a bright flashlight in one end and try to see light through it. If no light can be seen, use something to run through the hose and free up the obstruction.
Vacuum Bag If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the vacuum bag might be full. Clean or replace the bag as recommended by the manufacturer.

Dust Cup AssemblyIf the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and has no suction the dust cup assembly might not be installed tightly, or it might be cracked or broken. The dust cup must seal tightly in order to produce the right amount of suction. If it is cracked or broken, replace it. Most glues and adhesives will not successfully seal the crack.
Blower Wheel If the vacuum cleaner won't pick up and there is no suction, the blower wheel might be jammed or broken. Check the blower wheel to be certain it turns freely. If it doesn't, check to see if there is anything rubbing against it. If not, but it's hard to turn, the motor is most likely the problem.

Why won't my Rival vacuum sealer vacuum?. It just hums when I push the vacuum button.

see the next steps and follow with common sense: God bless you

If the noise is coming from the motor area it may be a broken fan blade, if it's broken replace it. If the noise is coming from the brush area then it may be a defective brushroller bearing or brushroller, if either is defective it needs to be replaced.

    Hard to push

There may be a dial or something to set your unit to "floor" or low, and "High", all for the type of carpet or flooring you are vacuuming... change the setting to the middle or "floor"/ low.

On the other hand, here is a silly experience we may be sharing- sometime these units have wheels set so that, when the unit is "parked" or upright, wheels come down in the back, thus pushing the front down. You can turn it on, but the wheels won't go back into the unit until you move the handle from the upright position... My ex spent 15 minutes trying to get the vacuum to be normal- and all she had to do was just get the handle back at 2 or 4 o'clock position, and it worked fine...
if that's what you did- you aren't the only one! :-)

    Good luck.

Popped the lid open to change vacuum cleaner bag...now lid won't close. It's stuck at 90 degree angle. Is a button to release it?

    Hi bndennis,

Please check the spring on your lid, it may be keeping the door open. Miele vacuum cleaners mainly use a spring concept for keeping lids open - merely pushing it down will lock it at the bottom.

    Kind Regards :-)
