Electronic ignition continues to click (attempting to ignite) when ignition is plugged in without turning gas control to ignite condition. Someone was cleaning cooktop and pulled plug on electronic ignition. After cleaning and ignition plugged back in, ignition continues to click on all 4 burners.
Product is Kitchenaid cooktop KGCC506RBC
We called in an appliance repair technician. He said during the cleaning process of the cooktop, when the control knobs had been removed to thoroughly clean the cooktop, some cleaning fluid or water or moisture got into the ignition switch panel under the cooktop. Letting it dry for 24 hours should fix the problem and this appears to have done that.
Hi,
Here is a tip that I wrote that will help figure out why the burner spark keeps on clicking...

GE Profile, 5 burner cooktop. Same thing. Overflow with liquid cooking and once with cleaning. Both times igniter continued to fire after all burners turned off. Unplugging stops it. Will try a blow dryer and wait 24 hours.
