I have a straight talk phone from walmart it is a zte merit model: z990g and when i turn it on it wont go past the tracfone blue screen.. what can i do to fix this
The below steps will resolve many small issues.1.Power off the phone.
2.Press and hold "Vol+", "Menu", and "Power" key until the phone goes to recovery mode.
3.Use "Vol+" and "Vol-" to move the cursor up and down.
4.Move cursor to "wipe data/factory reset", press "Back" key to select it.
5.Now move cursor down to "Yes - delete all user data" and press "Back" to select it.
6.The data will be erased.
7.The cursor will be on "reboot system now" at the end, so just press "Back" key to reboot the phone normally.
WARNING: All user data will be completely cleared; the phone will be in a factory reset status.So before you reset backup data first!! gud luck!!
i have the same phone with the same problem but keeps showing TracFone bluescreen, then black then blue screen then black over and again. i tried the above steps but when selecting "wipe data/factory reset" i dont get the "yes" opt. I get in yellow font on bottom alot of program update and verify commmands and then E: failed to open /sdcard/update. zip (no such files or directory) E: signature verification failed Installation aborted
I have the same problem except my phone is a Samsung SGH-T528G (GP)
Mine is doing the same thing. I can't get it to go passed the blue screen. Is there a way to get it back on without having to reset the whole thing?

My screen is blue and won't go past the "A service of TracFone Wireless, Inc." This happened to me 6 days after I bought the phone. I turned my phone off last night to charge, and went to turn it back on and it is still stuck on the same screen. I don't understand. It is now 6 days after I payed my phone bill. It's frustrating because I keep pressing the volume button and the off button but it just resets the blue screen.

Default 4 Digit user code: 1234 or 0000
Default 6 Digit Security code: 123456 or 000000
Type *#06# at the mobile screen to know IMEI no of your mobile.
send the IMEI no to me and i will reply you with unlocking code.
