On my scooter the electric/magnetic brake got wet and the brake corroded stuck and the wires to the brake had come off.

SOURCE: Invacare Zoom 220 mobility scooter will not run

Hi. When the machine is on, does it display a flashing light or LED on the display for a fault code? Is the free-wheel lever switch operating correctly?
You might have a sticky brush in the motor. Take the brushes out and check their condition. If the brush caps are not tight enough then the current arc's on to the side of the brush, and it jams in the brush holder.
Check the resistance through the motor before touching the brushes. Check motor and battery connectors for continuity and any sign of heat or melted plastic. Check operation and resistance of the brake unit. Most controllers in mobility scooters are quite reliable, so always eliminate all other possibilities before looking at the controller. Good luck. Neil.

SOURCE: rover three wheel mobility scooter full charge

First of all,

Make sure the freewheel lever is unengaged (up or down ?) , this can be tested by pushing the scooter forward , you should hear gearbox clunk,(Freewheel not engaged) Not all scooters sound a alarm when freewheel is engaged.

is the power indicator working okay,

Does the Wig Wam move freely, the thumb throttle part,

Check under the seat to make sure you have not blown or tripped the fuse, if it's a switch simply pressing the button will sort it, if not check the two prong fuse ,

you may also have some reset buttons on the stem so look out for them.

Now let me what you tried

Regards

SOURCE: shoprider cadiz scooter, batteries show full

I think your batteries haven`t been charged properly,or they have been left standing so the charge has leaked out.At a minimum your batteries need to be charged for 12 hrs a day for the first month if not they will not build the capacity and will dwindle and die for example it is at only 25% capacity, but looks like a fullcharge, it says it fully charged but will die
quickly this happens because it is charged to its full capacity but that is only 25% of the batteries true potential
resulting in short battery life.
Unfortunately majority of scooter batteries like this have to be newly replaced.

I installed new batteries and scooter still doesn't run, why?

Check the wiring from the controller to the motor, disconnect the wire ad clean the connections with a contact cleaner or WD40 , and make sure the scooter not in freewheel mode.

Scooter won't reverse and makes clicking sound by the controller by the electric motor

There is a servo which switches the transmission from forward to reverse and it needs replaced.

Battery is charged, scooter is assembled, but when the key is turned on, the scooter and all gauges are dead

Has the scooter been sitting unused for a while? Will the horn honk when the scooter is connected to the charger?
If the batteries are charged and NO LIGHTS come on at all when you turn the scooter on, please check all of your connections, most importantly the fuses as your circuit may be incomplete.
If there was any power getting to the scooter at all, the lights would at least blink to let you know there was a problem.
When batteries sit for a while they will oxidize and go solid which may prevent them from getting a full charge. The charger shows them as full but it is just the current bouncing back from the solid core. Try replacing the batteries to see if that solves the problem, if not, contact the manufacturer.
Good luck!

Replaced batterys worked fine forabout 1hr. then speed went up fast then nothing. lights and horn work , batterys are charged. no response to forward or reverse controls

Unfortunatly, your batteries need to be replaced.
The batteries contain a gel that needs to have current run through it on a regular basis (at least 8 hours once a week) or it will solidify. If you attach the charger, what will most likely happen is the green light will either stay green or go to green after a very short time. The charger will indicate the batteries are full, but instead of being full of pwer, they are full of crud. Your warranty will most likely not cover replacment as this is due to customer neglect, but your insurance may still cover the replacement if you can wait for the process to go through. Otherwise, you will need to replace the batteries on your own. There is enough power to turn on the lights and honk the horn, but not enough to get the motors to work.
Good luck!
