Did you touch the gold connection lines on the back of the card? they are really senitive and your suppose to avoid touching them at all. Try gently cleaning them off and replace it back in your phone...also I know this sounds stupid but make sure the card isn't upside down..lol..

there could be a issue with the contacts on the phone. the 6 pins where the SIM gets fixed. clean with the tissue & try again. if it's the same .. suggest you take it to a repair shop.
