Hi there,
I have recently purchased a ONYKO TX-SR506 amplifier. All speakers are connected but when I switch on the actual unit itself it emits a buzzing/vibrating sound. We have tried moving it but is is still there.
When volume is turned up is covers up the noise but it is still there and is annoying.
The issue is that when you hook up the HDMI connector (Only) from a source into the receiver the subwoofer will produce a audio hum if the source is either not playing or in a pause state you will hear the hum. Once you remove the HDMI connection the humming disappears. Again the UPDATE will reduce it 90% but at a high volume you can still hear the hum come out of the subwoofer and you know that if the customer knows about it they are going to be looking for it after the update. So at this point after the UPDATE you will hear some hum because the receiver is still processing a signal through the system. But at normal listening it's not going to be producing any humming, just your normal bass signal is going to be produced.
Please contact our Parts & Services Dept at the number listed below during normal business hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST ; or via email at [email protected]. They can be contacted at 201-785-2600, option # 4 for Parts & Services as they can further assist you regarding warranty and service issues. You will need to speak with the Parts & Services/ Warranty department for any servicing options or resolutions available for your issue.
If the unit is under warranty, DO NOT open it up. Bring it in for an exchange or warranty service. Explain that the unit makes noise during use and it will be serviced. This could be as simple as a bad connection in the power supply area and you are hearing oscillations or it could be a defective power transformer. Either case will be covered under warranty so there should be no charge to you.
Keep us posted.

Thanks Dan, only bought in Sunday so must be a faulty unit!
Everything is hooked up but when we turn the unit on it buzes for 5 to 10 minutes before it goes away. Appears to buzz longer each time we turn it on.
