Kenmore Elite Dishwasher model 665.16262402 has the clean light indicator flashing and it won't let me start a new load. Normally the light is on steady when a load is clean. Once the door is opened and shut again, the light normally goes out. It now flashes 7 times, pauses for a few seconds and then starts the 7 flash cycle again. I've tried pressing every button to cancel it out. I've shut off the power for about 10 minutes hoping any stray trons would go away. I did all what you ar saying and it still flashes 7 times and does the initial check for 2 to 3 minutes then it stops. When I succeed to get it started, then it starts at 60 minutes rather than 86 minutes and it gets down to 39 to 40 minutes and then it stops. We have change the water probe for the temperature and the heater is good, so.... can some help me, even the kenmore repair man could not fix it for me.
You will have to reset the console. To do this, close the door and press these buttons in sequence...
-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry
...all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

Oh my goodness! I was already shopping for anew dishwasher when I decided to google the problem and see if there was a fix! AND ITS FIXEDDDDDDDD! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
I have done this to mine also but have to do it everytime. I also found out that you have to run the hot water in your sink at least 120 f before you start wash.

i have tried this, and many other combinations of buttons with my elite quiet guard, and nothing seems to reset it. the smart wash button keeps flashing.
