Step 1:
An inverter is an electrical device on the bottom of your laptop screen. The job of the inverter is to convert DC electrical current to AC voltage to maintain power to the backlight lamp. If the display on your laptop is dark but working, odds are the inverter or the lamp are at fault. When troubleshooting monitor problems on a laptop, you may need to evaluate the inverter to determine which of the two parts is malfunctioning.

Remove the screen bezel on your laptop. The bezel is the piece of the computer casing that surrounds and protects the LCD screen. To remove the bezel, remove the screws around the screen. Bezel removal method may vary by model. Once the screws come out, the bezel should pop off. The inverter will be under the screen. Attach the positive probe (+) of a multimeter to the pin 1 on the inverter. The inverter has two connections, one on each end. With the laptop screen facing you, look at the left side of the inverter. Pin 1 is the top metal flange pointing to the right. Secure the negative probe (-) of the multimeter to any bare screw. There should be a screw securing the inverter to the laptop that will be perfect for the negative ground connection. Turn the laptop on to test the inverter. Turn the multimeter on and check the multimeter reading. If the display records voltage going to the inverter, such as 19 V DC, the inverter power supply is working. Turn the laptop off. Unplug the LCD inverter connection on the right side of the inverter. This disconnects the backlight from the inverter. Plug a working backlight to the connection on the right side of the inverter. Turn on the laptop. If the screen lights up, the backlight lamp is bad but the inverter works. If the screen remains dark, the inverter is bad.

Flickering screen

Try an external monitor to the laptop and see if it flickers. If it does, more than likely your video card is going bad. If it does not flicker on the external monitor you probably have a loose video cable or lcd inverter cable. Go back inside and remove the 2 cables that go into the LCD Inverter that sits at the bottom of the LCD Screen, then plug them back in. Then unplug the video cable at the top behind the lcd screen, plug it back in and secure it with a piece of tape right where the two connections meet.

My laptop screen flickers in and out, screen goes black

Hello there,
The reason the screen flickers is simply because the module of the laptop is faulty. The module is what connects the screen to the main board, it is like a flex for the screen. Once you can have it replaced, the screen will stop flickering.

My acer aspire 7535-5020 screen flickers sometimes the screen will go completly white

First you will need to determine if there is a problem with the laptop screen or the video card.

Plug in an external monitor to your laptop and use your laptop, if the screen on the external monitor flickers the same way your laptop screen flickered then there is a problem with the video card and you will need to repair your laptop. This is considered a major repair because the video card on the laptop is usually embedded into the motherboard and will be expensive to replace.

If the screen does not flicker then the connection from your laptop to your laptop LCD display might be loose. You will need to remove the cover of your laptop and make sure the connection is firm, as well as make sure there is no damage on the connector or wires.

Hope this helps.

The screen flickers periodically without any reason. If i giggle the screen or pull the screen down the up it staops.

Hi

The flickering happens because the flex of your laptop is getting weak.

The flex connects the screen of a laptop to the motherboard it is through it that data is passed to the screen.

It is found in all laptops and the more you open and close the laptop,it gets weaker and weaker.

The best thing to do to stop the flickering is to change the flex. You can also loose the laptop, remove the flex and fix it back properly but that may not stop the flickering permanently.

Note;if you cant loose the laptop yourself please get an expert to do it for you
