GE quiet power 3

First, check the basket that collects junk at the bottom. Another likely problem is a clogged line to the drain that usually plugs into the garbage disposer. You may try to disconnect that hose and plumb it with a coathanger or the like or hook it up to a shopvac to break the clog free.

My GE quiet power 2 dishwasher isn't cleaning

its your water actually. go to www.dishwasherfilter.com and get the dishwasher filtration system. it filters the hard minerals that leave spots and film on dishes before they enter your dishwasher. you will love this product.

My GE. quiet quiet power plus won't drain

This is normally a pump issue. check the following to combat this further..

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

My GE quiet power plus will not completely drain at the end of the cycle.

I took the drain hose off and found that the check valve (washer/rubber flaper) was bad. This part keeps the drain water from running back into the dishwasher after the pump shuts off.Called my local parts suppy and you can not by just the check valve, you have to get the entire assembly at over 40.00. Thanks G.E. great design.

Ge quiet power 3 troubleshooting

I have a GE Quietpower 3 dishwasher and let me tell you it is the worst dishwasher, hands down that I have ever owned. It is not quiet and it certainly does not have any power to clean anything. Or so i thought. After reading a few of the posts on this site it dawned on me to check the drainage. I took the whole drain assembly apart. Cleaned all of the gunk out of it. Then went for the drain hose. It was just about a clean as it was brand new. Then i reexamined the drain and found that it did not drain into the Garbage disposal like I am use too. Instead it had to make an immediate 30" climb into a PVC drain that sat just below the underside of the countertop. I rerouted the hose to dump into a bucket and ran the dishwasher. Guess what??? All clean and no residue. I am off to Lowes now to get the clamps and such to drain the dishwasher into the disposal. I still think this dishwasher is the worst I have ever owned and think GE should give that Six Sigma save a few pennies on one DW and the company can save hundred of thousands, at the expense of a customer spending hours on fix-it sites to find out the company cheapened the pump, a rest! However, for all of you that just want to fix your dishwasher, try draining it into the Disposal now before you blow your pump out.
