I have AT&T as DSL service provider.
I FINALLY got my laptop working to connect with my Link Sys wireless router. My desktop "sees" the connection, makes the connection, but cannot get to the internet.
It is set to WEP, not sure what else to do.
The laptop is on Windows VISTA, desktop, Windows XP if that matters. it worked fine before I moved and hooked into AT&T.
thanks in advance for any help! I need both PC's for my work
First unhook router and hook up pc directly yo modem and type in 191.168.1.254 and goto config tab and see is modem is ppoe or bridge to ethernet needs to be ppoe second go back into setup on router and do a manually config and tell you have a dynamic dns and finish setup process i had the same problem with att internet and att had me setting it up wrong

The laptop is only 1-1/2 years old. I am not sure how to check to see if the modem is set to ppoe??
i will try it and let you know..have to move my desktop back to the modem and that will take a little while. thanks so much!
and you realized that my LAPTOP is connecting OK to the wireless router, but it's my DESKTOP (which is about 3 years old and upgraded memory) with Windows XP that is not connecting to the router.
it was prior to hooking up to AT&T software.
just wanted to be sure you knew that my laptio IS connecting OK
thanks again!
