My fagor oven tripped out the electricity and when i put the power back on it will not allow me to set the time in the usual way ie holding down the hand button and setting the timer with the plus and minus buttons.
It's possible that the power outage caused damage to the control panel or other components of the Fagor oven. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the power cord and outlets: Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into the oven and the wall outlet, and that the outlet is receiving power. Try unplugging the oven and plugging it back in to reset it.
Check the fuse: Some ovens have a fuse that can be replaced if it blows. Check the owner's manual or the back of the oven to see if there is a fuse that can be accessed and replaced.
Check for visible damage: Look for any visible damage to the oven, such as a bent power cord or damaged outlets. If you see any damage, the oven may need to be repaired.
Try a different outlet: If you have access to another outlet, try plugging the oven into it to see if it will work. This can help you determine if the problem is with the oven or the outlet.
Check for a power reset button: Some ovens have a power reset button that can be used to reset the unit. Check the owner's manual or the back of the oven to see if there is a power reset button that can be pressed.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, the oven may need to be repaired or replaced. You can try contacting Fagor customer service for further assistance, or take the unit to a professional appliance repair shop for evaluation and repair.
TIMER

I have the same problem. I wonder is this a fault in the manufacture of these ovens as my oven began acting up soon after it was installed. Does anyone know if the timer can be bypassed in order to turn on the oven directly. I dont really need the timer anyway. T P Kennedy
I know this is an old thread but having had the same problem there is an economic fix. The comments about clock / timer are only partially correct. The oven won’t work if the clock won’t work, however the reason your clock is not working is the low voltage power supply. The weak link in the power supply is normally the optocoupler. This the integrated circuit chip labelled U2 on the board, it’s a small 4 pin chip but make sure you put the new one in the correct way round. A flashing steam and clock light is a definite symptom of this. If this fails to fix then I would recommend swapping the electrolytic capacitors next. The bits should not cost more than the postage !
