The water heater is equipped with safety device called a pressure relief valve. This valve is designed to open automatically when water pressure inside the tank becomes too great.

The relief valve should have a lever on the top. Lift it / push down on it briefly and it will allow water in the tank to flow through it (and out the pipe into the bucket). By allowing water to flow, will clear any debris caught between the seat and seal that may be causing the leak. If the valve continues to leak after doing this, the valve should be replaced. In most areas, this type of work is required to be performed by a licensed / qualified plumber.

Good luck!

SOURCE: my relief valve slowly drips

Is the pressure in the boiler higher than the set pressure of the relief valve? If it is, there is a problem that the relief valve is trying to correct.
If not, did you try making the valve open?
Be careful, but step back, lift the lever and briefly let the relief valve discharge into a bucket of some sort, maybe you could put some old rags in it to keep from spraying out at you. If there is sediment in the valve this may flush it out.

Hi wanting to know is it dangerous to keep filling the preshireb up & is it dangerous to do this when the radiators warning up,.... had a bit of drips on the raditor pipes just bled them'' :)...

Are you saying the 3/4 inch valve is dripping and you need to keep topping up the water to maintain the pressure?

If you do this it is "safe" but you will introduce more oxygen in the system with the fresh water.

This oxygen will corrode the radiators and possiblty the boiler heat exchanger depending on how much water you are introducing.

Change the Pressure reflief valve. This is a £10/$ 10 part and will save your system in the long run.

You need a 5 gallon bucket and a small sump pump that connects to a garden hose. The hose connects to the inlet of the water heater and and then run a second hose from the hot water outlet into the bucket. Pour in about a gallon of white distilled vinegar. Turn the pump on and let the vinegar run through the heater for 15 minutes. Reverse the hoses and run another 15 minutes. reconnect the heater and test the water flow. You may need to repeat these steps several times to remove enough debris and buildup.
Installing a water softener treatment system will prevent the buildup from occurring so fast, if ever again.

Water logged expansion tank ( ruptured diaphram in tank) or wrong size tank. This caused the excessive pressure in the system causing the relief valve to open. Also, air in the system causing flow to stop, Both conditions will cause boiler go out on safety.
