When watching tv picture is perfect then goes snowy, if you turn it off and back on clear again, but doesn't last long, the longer its off the longer it stays clear when turned back on, how do I fix

Sounds like AGC [Automatic Gain Control] circuit section fault. The fault is related with its main board. It will be best to contact any service technician or the authorized service center in this case; as this is not an easy work can be done be a user. Dish Duo 625 TV 2 goes to a snowy screen randomly

Karin,
I am sorry to hear of your issue. I may be redundant but bear with me. In order to assure that the receiver is performing correctly. Change the cables on the back of the receiver. Move the cable on the in home distibution to the 3-4 out and vice versa. At TV1 change the TV itself to the channel TV2 was modulated to and see if you can watch tv error free for awahile.Do likewise on the TV2 location by going to CH3-4. Let them stay like this for an hour or so to replicate the issue. If the problem does not appear it would seem as though the receiver is fine. It also would appear that the cabling is fine also. If you are not having to reset the modulator than I would expect that the receiver is good once again. I would send a tech to your home and have him break the system down to the most basic configuration and progress from there. I personally suspect that there is a piece of hardware that is heating up and shorrting out such as a barrel, wallplate, or even an improperly prepared connector. Let me know what I can do to help you resolve the issue. If need be I will contact you local service provider to see that they assist you.

Samsung plasma ppm42s3 , picture wobbling, sometimes screen goes blank

Hello arunaik_6,

This looks as if a component has become thermally sensitive. The best way to find this is to use component cooling spray. It looks as if the problem is localized to the tuner section. Take the back off of the TV and turn the TV on, wait until the problem occurs and lightly spray the tuner section with the component cooling spray watch for any reaction, then if this does not work spray the Microprocessor and the LVDS section and watch for a reaction. The set should go back to normal when it does that section is the problem, try to localize the problem to one component. Then replace that component.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Picture loses all normal color & changes to snowy blues & greens

Not sure what causes it but it can be fixxed by your local repair guy, I just had mine fixxed for under a hundred bucks, he takes the back off and with a tiny screw driver adjust a few screws to near brand new perfect picture.. and it has been good ever since

Picture

yes it could ba the cable itself even, but i suspect more the tuner circuit or tuner itself may have bad solder connections. Here is another test for you to try, plug another dvd or vcr, or xbox etc. into the back, using one odf the inputs. See if this works like the built in dvd. if so it will be more likely bad connections in the tuner or surrounding circuit. good luck.

While watching tv, the tv all sudden goes snowy, no sound, and have to turn it off and back on to make it work again

Connect up another set right next to that set thats going out to make sure the cable or that line is not bad. It soukds as though you may have an intermittant tuner assembly inside the TV set. Its also a possablity that there could be a bad solder connectiuon in or around the tuner assembley. Not really a job for the user, as this set has hot and cold chassis, and can give a mean shock if you do not have the know how to work on these monsters. good Luck PS Please do not forget to rate this thread.
