SOURCE: Rainbow color effect appears when Samsung LCD plays Wii or DVD

Hello, I have a question which video inputs are you using for your DVD and Wii connections? The reason I ask is because this sounds like video distortion cuased by noise. If possible can you send a picture of the screen when it has this problem and send which video ports are being used? If it is noise in the video you may have a saw filter problem, or a decoupling issue. In any event I'll know more once you send those pictures and which inputs you are using for your DVD and Wii. Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com [email protected]

SOURCE: audios fine but picture is black

Hello taasmost9, This problem indicates an issue with the inverter which operates the backlight. It appears that your inverter is malfunctioning. If you have a background in electronics, it is possible for you to repair this yourself if not you will do more damage then good so I would like to suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics that you have a qualified TV technician work on and repair this problem. If you do have a background in electronics you will need to measure the voltages at the inverter and determine that power id present at the inverter's input and at the output to the backlight. You will need a schematic and a multimeter for this task. After finding the component you have a choice of replacing the component or replacing the entire inverter module (this is up to you depending on the cost of each procedure). I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

SOURCE: 46" LCD Samsung TV Model# LN-S4692D I have no picture

The back light inverter board may have gone out or it is not getting the 24vdc from the power supply module. Start checking for voltage feeding the inverter board.

It all depends on where the set is located. Try looking in the manual. Samsung has them online for free.

Replaced 3 capacitors for start up issue, now have radom with vertical lines

You will need to replace all the capacitors in the output side of the power supply. It is possible you have other bad capacitors that are not bulging at the tops. The power supply generates a voltage used by the the video processor on the main board. If this voltage is out of whack, it can affect your video. I would recommend you check all power supply voltages for accuracy and ripple.

Help for a friend; ln-s4095d, hdmi and blu-ray.. no picture

You may want to try a good, Monster Cable, HDMI cable. Visit this page: http://www.monstercable.com/HDMI/advancedhdmi.asp
If you have a standard HDMI cable, it will not support 1080P.

So this is one of the few times that I will recommend spending the money for a better cable.
The better cable improves picture color quality, from 8 bit to 12 bit and it improves audio quality.
