1994 pontiac grand am high beams work but no low beams, possible relay issue?

Headlights were flaky, sometimes would work, sometimes wouldn't. Now only the high beams work, no low beams and you have to hold the high beam switch in order to keep the high beams on. Could the headlight relay need replaced? Already replaced the low beam bulbs, not the issue. High beam switch clicks but doesn't stay on unless being held.

Sounds like it's in the actuator itself - the part that you move on the steering wheel or dash to put the high beams on or the headlight switch itself.. Find the ground wire on the headlights and run a new wire from that directly to the body somewhere so it gets a good ground, or directly to the neg side of the battery.

SOURCE: headlights

disconnect the module that is mounted in front of the fuse box .Then carefully clean the the connectors ,they are usually pretty dirty. After they are clean put it back 2gether.If it doesnt solve the prob then u might have to stick some washers on your bottom screws so that your module is angled in.This will ensure a solid connection.

SOURCE: low beam headlights do not work

try the lights with the tilt wheel in the up position. If the low beam works then, a wire has pulled out of the connector on the mutipurpose switch inside the steering column. remove the covers behind the steering wheel on the column and there is a large multi wire plug with many wires. it should be obvious which wire has pulled out or broken.

SOURCE: camry headlights not working

Have you checked out the switch itself? Seems like the problem might be there.
If the lamp bulbs are sill intact, that's probably the most likely solution. There's a possibility you have a short somewhere in the switch relay that will allow the highlights to turn on but not the low beams.

2003 Pontiac Grand Am brights work but ONE low beam is out ...

You most likely need a new low beam headlight BULB.It has the low and high beam in it and the separate high beam has only high.
You SHOULD have 2 tabs ,one at each end to pull up and the headlight assembly should then come out easily.
Tapping a blown out headlight can reattach the filament for a short time but after that replacement is necessary.

2007 pontiac grand prix headlights are not working correctly. High beams work but not low beam. nothing works on automatic. Low beam bulbs have been replaced. Lights worked for one day, then back to not...

I drive a 07 Grand Prix and the low beams randomly went out. Could not get them to come back on, but all of the other lights worked (inside, parking, and high beams). found a forum online that recommended replacing the fuse/thing at location #35 in the fuse box under the hood. It worked immediately!! Got the part at Advanced Auto parts for $35 dollars.

My 94 Grand Am headlights won't go on. If I hold the brights on it works but I have to hold the handle the whole time.

Common problem on these cars. The switch for the low beam high beam goes bad and causes this. That switch that you are holding needs to be replaced.

2002 pontiac grand prix gt. High beams are dimmer

A loose ground wire to the headlight will keep it dim,Or a headlight adjustment will bring the headlight up.If you can have your headlight turned on a garage door or something at night, and then watch as you change your headlights from low beam to high beam which ones are higher.the last thing to verify is that your high beam headlights are not the plastic lens type that turn dull which cuts the light power.
