Try installing the old driver by right clicking and choosing the run in comparability mode I have had pretty good luck getting these older sharps to run on newer operating systems that way.

Verify if your Windows 7 is 32 bit or 64 bit, than download the
driver accordingly from the Sharp website. Also try upgrading the driver ,it
