This player will only recognize certain file types, and certain WMA files have restrictions that will allow you to play the song on your computer, but will not allow you to transfer it to an mp3 player. Your best bet is to get a music service that will only give you songs in mp3 format - it will give you fewer headaches. Once you have downloaded the songs onto your computer, you can use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs to your GPX. The full user's manual is available from GPX's website. Good luck!

Im trying to download music on my mp3 player i just got for christmas an i cant figure out how to ? it said to look up more info on www.gpx.com but i cant find anything

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format.
Google search for free mp3 music files and download them to your computer. Then connect the USB cable that came with your player, connect it to your player and then plug it into the USB port on your computer. The computer will see the player as an external storage device, then copy the mp3 music files to your player.
You can convert your CDs for free and copy them to your MP3 player. Please click on this link and follow my instructions :-

Removing songs

If there isn't a delete option available on your mp3 player, then here's what i suggest.

Connect your mp3 player to your computer.
Once you have been given notification of the connection, got to my computer.

The mp3 player will be shown as a removable disk.

Right-Click on the removable disk and select the "explore" option.

This will open a new window showing the contents of the mp3 player.

There should be a folder inside the mp3 player (removable disk) labeled music, or a large display of multiple music files.

From here, select the music files you want to delete.... but note that *all music you delete from the mp3 player will be removed permanently, and will not be redirected to the recycle bin*...but you can always get it back ;)

Hope this helps <(^_^)>

Why does it say error when i put on song onto my gpx mp3 player?

sEVERAL POSSIBILITIES:
* You downloaded protected music on your Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP computer using Windows Media Player 9. Music was purchased online or the music was ripped form your own audio CD with Copyright Protection turned ON.
o You must use Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 for online purchased songs.
o You must turn OFF Copy Protection on your Windows Media Player 9 before ripping your audio CDs into WMA files
* You downloaded protected music to your MP3 player using your Windows XP computer and Windows Media Player 10 with your player in USB mode. Music was downloaded from the internet, purchased or subscribed, or it was ripped from your own audio CD with Copyright protection turned ON.
o You have to use your MW3836 in MTP mode.

Download music

It is easier to get a SD memory card for it. Drag and drop the music onto the window which represents the SD memory card and then just put the SD memory card into the GPX MP3 player. I have the same MP3 player and it works nice... it was a good deal for the money! Take the savings and invest in a cheap SD memory card and you will be happy.... I was!
:-) Good Luck!
