We have a Frigidaire Gallery (purchased 2004) top loading washer that does not want to kick in and fill with water. I messed with the controls enough to get it to fill with water once about 3/4 of the way, but now it won't agitate, fill further, etc. I know have a washer tub 3/4 full of clothes & water. I've flipped the breaker, unplugged & plugged it back in. Any advice...

I understand your Frigidaire Gallery washer, model# GLWS1339EC, will not fill with water. First, make sure that the water supply is adequate in area where your washer is located. Secondly, make sure the water supply faucets are completely open. Thirdly, make sure water is not being used elsewhere in the house. The water pressure must be at least 30PSI. Try to avoid running water elsewhere, while the washer is filling. Lastly, make sure the water inlet hoses are not kinked. Hello msmm50 - Contact a professional so they can properly and accurately diagnose the unit for repairs. Sounds like you have a leak in the drain lines or the water valve.
I would replace the cold water inlet valve at the rear of the washer (pull the washer away from the wall), it is easy to do and the part is less than $20.00

we had the same problem, have u checked the filter? because as i was on the net looking for a new one, my flatmate just checked the filter and it spewed out five screws and twelve bobby pins!! then voila! problem solved.. works like new now!
