My compaq presario S6000 S6220wm has no audio I m using windows7.... my computer keeps telling me that there's no audio devices installed
Your computer has an ac97 audio card.
There are known issues between AC97 and Windows 7, see:
Windows 7 and RealTek AC'97 Audio Distortion
Realtek AC'97 Audio BSOD - Windows 7
Download Drivers Realtek AC'97
On Windows 7 you need one of the drivers below:
Vista driver.
download Driver
Here is also the driver for XP: Realtek AC''97 Audio Driver Update this will not work on Windows 7.
Windows 7 is an beta version. you cant find drivers for that beta version yet
Good luck to you

SOURCE: Need an audio driver 4 windows 7
first i would recommend unplugging all audio devices, rebooting, then plugging them back in.
If that doesn't work then here is a link to the drivers for it: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=396420&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=385242&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228#113165
the drivers are for XP but on my compaq presario it still worked on windows 7.
